I'm not sure we can read too much into that. Villa are an entirely different proposition with a much better squad than us.
It makes sense that a player such as Philogene would have played far more for us, but is very much a bit-part player at a CL team.
If Villa were signing him as a regular starter, we wouldn't have even had a sniff of signing him. | |

That may well depend now how Jack Clarke performs. Seemed a strange move going back to Villa from a career perspective. Dont think he’ll get many minutes unless injuries see him in there. He picked up one himself this weekend by all accounts. |  |

Yeah could depend on how Clarke gets on, although you could equally see us having both in the squad. Might free up SS to play a little more centrally. Will depend on a number of things being true, not least us staying up, Chaplin & Broadhead's future, his involvement at Villa etc. Clearly one we like though as we've chased him for the past 2 summer windows. | | | |

Far too early to tell yet but he is injured. By the end of the season we will know whether Broja and Philogene have been a success where they are now. That still won't tell us conclusively whether they would have been here (although if they are permanently unavialable through injury that seems likely to be the same if they had been here too). |  |
