Back down to earth with a bump! 16:34 - Oct 5 with 2834 views | Wallingford_Boy | But it’s one game, away at west ham was never a game we’d have targeted for points. That win is not far away…. I think!

Back down to earth with a bump! on 17:27 - Oct 5 with 2258 views | 3_5_2 | Why would we not have targeted this game. They have been indifferent and at 1-1 the crowd very negative towards them Who are the teams you we are going to target then?

Back down to earth with a bump! on 17:45 - Oct 5 with 2160 views | BloomBlue | That was only their 2nd home win in 10 games. The atmosphere before the game was clearly WH fans thinking that if they don't win, they're calling for his head. Fans were turning on them when we made it 1-1, and then we give them a 2nd.

Back down to earth with a bump! on 18:29 - Oct 5 with 1950 views | stonojnr | People keep saying this, how is this back down to earth with a bump? This is the reality of the league we've been in since August. We're in the Premier league, we're playing Premier league teams week in, week out, we're not in league one anymore,we don't turn up and just win games. We will lose more games this year than those with very short memories can remember, because we're not finishing top 6, or maybe even top half of the table this season, West Ham are not a team we need to beat to stay up, sure if we win we'd be ecstatic it's 3pts. But they'll be disappointed if they don't challenge for a European place, We're challenging for 4th from bottom as the minimum, hopefully slightly better but people need to reset their expectations. Then the bumps won't be so unexpected
Back down to earth with a bump! on 22:07 - Oct 5 with 1688 views | TresBonne | Why do we have an obsession with accepting mediocrity because 'this is the Premier League'...we're here for a reason, we should be targeting every game for points. No need to do this whole act about 'oh well it's x-team' every time we lose.

40 points is a decent target, that's 10 wins, 10 draws, 18 losses. an away game against a top 10 side is almost certainly not in the 20 easiest games. by my reckoning we're about par (dropped 2 against soton, gained 2 against villa and brighton)

Agreed there are certain teams we don't need to beat. But when you've drawn against one of those you do ( southampton) you've got to get some 3 points from somewhere else. I still had yesterday down as a draw though in my predictions and whilst it was wrong i too Didn't see it as a win anyway.. but the lack of quality I wasn't expecting. We don't appear to be improving yet as a group and time is running out in that respect. I've made my thoughts known on other threads but KM had got to imo throw away what ever book he's got and start again. Keep certain pages but read a new one about round pegs round holes and start using players in the ways that made them transfer targets. We do this we might stand a chance. But if he doesn't then we may aswell kept last year's lineup and asked them to do their best.

I think it's a little bit early and too small of a sample size to say we aren't improving yet as a group. Last Sunday was our best performance of the season and the trend was up after being unbeaten in 3. The apparent thing in this league is you're going to get slapped every few weeks if you have an off day or aren't at 100% concentration for 90 mins. I think we need to be patient with this very young group as they learn the league. 3 big games coming up!
