Attendance on Saturday was 62,467. The 9th highest we ever played in front of? 10:45 - Oct 7 with 2553 views | ITFC_History | I'm not sure if it has been mentioned already on here but I believe the game against West Ham was the biggest attendance we have played in front of since September 2001, when we lost 4-0 at Manchester United with 67,551 attending the game. I also believe Saturdays game was the 9th most attended game ever in our history & the 4th highest this century. Would it also be possible to group the fixtures with gaps for the international breaks, rather than the calendar months? Thanks.

That would look weird. You can kind of tell where the breaks are because there’s a big gap in dates

Mike Bacon, writing in an article of great comebacks for the EADT reckons that there were a hundred thousand at the first match too: https://www.eadt.co.uk/news/21551815.barcas-comeback-greatest-ever-tell-cant-rem 'Just a couple of weeks later, Town were put in their place in front of 100,000 baying Spanish fans, losing 3-0, then 3-1 on penalties.'

It’s nonsense. The stadium was only a quarter full. Nobody knew who Ipswich were and the UEFA Cup was low profile for Cruyff’s Barcelona

Well, such detailed analysis really helps us to get to the bottom of things... I did a bit more digging and found an attendance of 45,000 on Wikiedia (Barcelona's own page on the game and UEFA's have no attendance figures): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1977%E2%80%9378_FC_Barcelona_season Was there a low attendance because Barsa supporters felt the tie was already lost ? Were midweek games iffy around then due to an uncertain political climate as Spain transitioned to democracy ? I don't buy the UEFA Cup as was a nothing competition, everywhere else Town played the stadiums were packed. And the Cup Winners Cup was looked upon as a lesser competition but the next year they get an attendance of a hundred thousand for a game against us. Also, having been to the Nou Camp, I wouldn't be surprised if the upper tiers had plenty of people in them (better view.)

Thankfully only 43,874 for the 9-0 🙈 All Manchester United league games this season have been 73+ So I reckon you are right. The fixture against Man Utd will be biggest league attendance we have ever played in front of come February next year. https://www.footballwebpages.co.uk/premier-league/attendances

Have to admit. I probably wasn't as a thorough as I should have been once I got to the mid 2010s. Tbh didn't think they'd be any Edited the results in so thanks for letting me know. Brings the total to at least thirty 50K+ games where the Town have been involved
