What an idiot

Are Taylor swift tickets really that elusive that you arrange a police escort normally only given to the Royal family

And she is married to Ed Balls - Norwich Scummer

This Labour Party are really doing themselves proud!!!!!!!

Have you ever encountered 'Swifties'?! I can absolutely see why a police escort would be appropriate in the circumstances.

(also, it's 'Yvette'. Might want to double-check how you're spelling people's names before calling them idiots)

if i have read the story correctly the tickets came via her husband? In which case its a different scenario than other freebies that have been in the news and a bit of a non story.

As for the police escort, as Home Secretary she should be given the correct level of police protection, especially in the current political climate. I have no problem with that. Whether she should have gone to this type of concert whilst she is holding this position is a different conversation. Whilst i do believe people should not miss out on t hings they want to, some adjustments have to be made when you are holding one of the big jobs in government.

It wasn't a police escort for her, it was for Taylor Swift after she received what the police called 'credible death threats'. It's such a nothing story but these people need something to froth at the mouth over.

Visiting teams get a police escort to our bloody stadium, for God's sake.

I have been critical of the various freebies that Starmer received but I agree that this seems to be a complete non-story.

It was started by the Sun without proof that the Home Secretary had any influence on what the police did, and given this I found it rather disturbing that Sky News yesterday and today have really pursued the story.

Certainly a case of the right wing press setting the agenda, which is the case whatever the government is.

I'm not a 'Labour' person in any traditional sense - as in, I wouldn't vote for them no matter what, as many of their supporters do (I've veered towards Lib Dem before but mostly as a protest vote cos both of the other options were rubbish), but I think the nicest thing you can say about all this is that if it's the best mud they've got to sling at Labour, they must be doing alright.

I don't think Starmer's done badly. He hasn't blown me away either. But it makes a change from feeling absolutely enraged 99% of the time under the previous Government, when every day was a another story about absolutely breathtaking corruption and greed.

I'm quite happy to find out that the current biggest outrages are that a pop star got police protection after death threats and Starmer said 'torpedo' instead of 'bomb.'

Sam Coates was almost breathless last night with his "scoop" that Yvette Cooper had attended the concert (courtesy of her husband).

It's similar to the old Thatcher quote:

"I always cheer up immensely if an attack is particularly wounding because I think, well, if they attack one personally, it means they have not a single political argument left."

The worst things that Starmer has done is give away the Chagos Islands without even asking the people living there, the winter fuel payments disaster, giving in to huge public sector pay demands, private school tax, and generally chasing off high-earners amongst other things are the worst things that the Labour government have done in a very short time.
