The one good thing they introduced last year was the real time transfers option. It always kind of upset my immersion in the game when you had the post January squads already in place at the start of the season. | |

Programming is difficult and it sounds like they've been trying to change the engine to this new one side by side for at least a few years.
They should have just taken a year out to focus on getting it ready.
Thinking back, I think they delayed CM4 for a good while because of it's state and it still was a mess on release. Might be one to skip. [Post edited 11 Oct 2024 7:16]

I haven't played it for quite a while but did play Football Manager Live when they were beta testing it
That in itself was a weird experiment, it must have given them a lot data and feedback for the game engine | |

I'm wondering if it was the classic old 'working with an inherited flawed database design' problem; the PK was supposed to autoincrement, they got that totally wrong, and found that they've been uncontrollably sh!tting themselves ever since.

I haven't played it for ages but a lot will depend on their product development roadmap and what they are trying add in. All it takes are a couple of core features to go wrong and the whole debugging, analysing, recoding and most importantly test and QA can take a long time. |  |
