If he's the world class player we think he is then maybe we should be building/picking the team around him rather than trying to fit him into the team?
On Carsley - that has to be one of the worst interviews I've seen from a manager for a long time. That isn't the poise or talk of the leader we need. Nice guy, great number 2 but not right for the top job. Just my thoughts. |
That was my main takeaway too - how do you inspire a team of international football players if you can't string a sentence together in a press conference? He may well talk differently to the players in training and in the dressing room,.but to be giving it the full windsock treatment about whether you want the job and sounding that unconfident in your own ability will surely have an impact on the respect you get from your team.
Match that with the tactics, which to be fair I thought the front four gave a good go initially, but it was never going to work, then I think he has sealed his own fate. |  | | |
