Burns "great" on the left, Omari assist master on the right.... 21:20 - Oct 15 with 4530 views | Hugoagogo_Reborn | Will KM be tempted to make changes? Interesting conundrum, or will he just plough the same furrow as he has thus far?

Burns "great" on the left, Omari assist master on the right.... on 09:45 - Oct 17 with 658 views | itfcjoe | I think we've clearly recruited to have Clarke and Szmodics as options as the Left 10 (not left wing), Hutchinson and Chaplin as the Right 10 (not the 10) and Burns and Ogbene as the right sided player. There are many reasons for this - firstly McKenna likes his 10s to be playing on the opposite side to their strongest foot - this is handy for two reasons....firstly when they are receiving cut backs from Davis or Burns, they are receiving the ball in stride on their strongest foot (Chaplin receiving them from Davis, Broadhead receiving them from Burns in previous seasons). Also, both the 10s drift wide, and can open up two passing lanes - one they can hit the ball to the far side of the pitch in stride for the person running on to it, and they can curl the ball behind the opposition full back for the wide player to get. If you look at the heat maps, average positions, touch maps, etc - Hutchinson spends far more time out wide on the right than Szmodics is on the left, and people are complaining that Szmodics is playing as a left winger and should be as a 10 which just isn't the case, he is playing as a 10. Without being blunt people need to watch it more closely and focus on what they are watching. The RW role this season, is seeing far more defensive work because a number of teams we face will put 5 along the front line in possession which means they drop in, is that really where we want Omari? I think Omari has had a pretty good season so far, the difference is though in the Championship when you beat a man and drive forward you get close to goal and making something happen, in the Premier League you can do the same and all it buys you is a pass in your own half so it's so much more work to look impressive but he's breaking tackles and breaking lines on the pitch and is getting better each week

Burns "great" on the left, Omari assist master on the right.... on 12:49 - Oct 17 with 525 views | TRUE_BLUE123 | Mckenna has had great success playing the same system for an awful lot of games now. The idea that he will change it after a couple of rough games against Premier league opposition is a bit silly imo.

You would hope that McKenna has learned from our Premier League experiences so far. I doubt he'll make huge changes on the back of one very poor result, but I would hope for a few tweaks.
