THAT match at Barnsley away takes some beating. FA Cup final was something else, sadly was at either of the UEFA cup matches, suspect pretty special too!
Here's a piece I wrote on the club's formation on the 140th anniversary.
Town 140 Years Old Today16th Oct 2018 10:11 Today, October 16th, marks the 140th anniversary of the formation of Ipswich Town Football Club.8
I've often wondered if it's known where the pitches at Broom Hill and Brook's Hall actually were. For example I think at Broom Hill they got changed at The Inkerman, so did that mean that the pitch was next to where the mini roundabouts are now or were they further away nearer the swimming pool?
Bolton Semi and the Playoff finals are up there but I can honestly say I've never enjoyed seasons more than the previous two. Just from where we were as a club and the journey. Gave the love of football back for me rather than following through habit.
Bolton semi-final home leg is difficult describe as the game itself was full of so much incident but also Portman Road was just rocking… all those failed play-off campaigns that preceded..: the huge relief
Wembley was so special, another cracking game, and the Town fans did the club proud… but it was just the culmination of so much work
[id throw in several games from the brilliant first Burley Premiership season, where we just played so well and surprised everyone, maybe the Man U home game… for the pure energy of the Wilnis goal]
But the last two under McKenna have been remarkable. So many games. So many good players and characters. So much dross preceded those glorious seasons and games.
Coming back from 2-0 down with 10 men to beat Warnock's Sheff Utd in 2003 is up there. Incredible comeback
That game against Sheff Utd is my #1 Portman Rd moment when I was there in person (I've lived down under for 10 years so wasn't there for Sarmiento and was working away in Scotland for the Bolton play-off semi-final) - although Inter Milan at home and the Demolition Derby would be close.
Starting with the Dale Roberts minutes silence, then Pablo's red card - and then the fight back. Marcus Bent came on as a second half sub and put in his best performance in a Town shirt.
But my overall #1 moment was Reuser's play-off final goal - I was behind the goal and can vividly remember just raising my arms in the air and bursting into tears.

40+ years a fan and that Sarmiento moment still tops everything for me, never seen the whole ground go as mad as that ever, brilliant!
Same here, over 40 years as a fan, i know the sarmiento moment is a recent memory but it has to be one of the greatest and there have been many good ones.

One of my earliest moments was when we beat Man U 4-0. 1969? The United team included Best, Law & Charlton and were European Champions in 1968, and might possibly still have been. I remember Charlton scratching his head when our keeper David Best simply caught one of his famous "thunderbolt" shots. TWTD.

Kieron throwing his boots into the north stand. I get choked up thinking about it.
Honourable mention to the pitch invasion after Brighton in 92.
In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!
