How do people seemingly think Burgess had a good game? The second goal is on him if you ask me.
Lets leave aside the fact he's put the ball out for a corner when he should have left it, which I think is a mistake, but lets ignore that from the moment
From the resulting corner he is slow as a tortoise for me at closing down Keane and he could have done more to try and stop that. I expect defenders to be putting their body in the way to try and stop that kind of thing but he looked like he was still jet-lagged.
Seems that some of our fans have blue eyed views of players who have helped us get this far on our journey and are blinkered to their errors.
Not really following this at all. If he goes haring out, Kean cuts inside and leaves him on his arse. Basics defending- put him wide is better than selling yourself.

Imo the defence was fine just like it has been in general all season regardless of who plays
The amount of gifts tho is a problem. But also the lack of protection from the midfield two and clarke lately doesn't help them. If you watch the 2nd goal both morsy and Phillips go for the same player leaving Burgess to think about two players. That split second of having to think about two players could have made the difference on him not moving at a different angle which could have prevented the 2nd goal.
I think he underestimated Keane's ability to have a strike on goal, he probably thought he'd try and cross and was trusting those in the middle to clear while not over committing himself. His reaction tells you he knew he hadn't closed him properly.
I love Burgess and Wolfy, but not sure how anyone could look at how nervy we were at the back yesterday and think that they impressed. Neither were able to compete with Calvert-Lewin in the air, and he was too mobile for them too.
They were far from being our biggest problem yesterday, but we massively missed Greaves' ability to read the game.
I was born underwater, I dried out in the sun.
I started humping volcanoes baby, when I was too young.

Think it was also noticeable how it stifled our ability to get play going down the left. Burgess has come on leaps and bounds on the ball since he first arrived but he's not close to Greaves in that area of his game and as a result we couldn't get Davis in the game at all really.
Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.

I'm not sure you can blame Burgess. I've seen Davis play every game this season, and even with Greaves playing, we haven't brought him into the game anything like we did last season because we are up against much more difficult teams to attack, and he is having to defend much more. Indeed, it strikes me that the opposition know the threat he is and will often set up to negate it, the only time where he got into the game much more from an attacking point of view being the Villa game in the second half.
