Hirst played well - held ball up, great assist. Looked a little lightweight in a couple of challenges and seemed to tire a bit, but didn't really put a foot wrong.

Delap was another level though. Great finish - and I was convinced that last minute shot was flying in the corner. No-one else in our team can pick the ball up in places like that, and create something out of nothing.

We'll see them rotate throughout the season I expect - Delap is quite a weapon coming on against tiring defences.

Would be great to have a 3rd striker - but think today we've seen they've both got what it takes to perform at this level.

They are both good enough to make an impact up there.

Smashing finish from George for his goal too.

Poll: Are this group of ITFC players the best squad in the division?

They’ve both got such good movement. Not sure if it’s genetics both coming from footballing families or just so well schooled at academy and England levels, but they’re probably the 2 most natural centre forwards we’ve had in literally years. Both of their goals today were lovely. We need to hope they both stay fit.

I think this is the only season we will have Delap, will have a big money move in the summer.

He will definitely stay in the Premier League whether we do it not, that's for sure! He is going to be some player when he's the finished article and I hope we get a good percentage of any future transfer clause written in to any sale, as it wouldn't be a surprise to see him go for a close to 9 figure fee at some point in his career.

Hirst is a great player, i remember his Barnsley goal well. However he either needs to improve his upper body strength or ...if he's going down on purpose under challenge expecting to get a foul ....quickly realise that in the PL he ain't gonna get the refs decisions he used to get in L1 and Championship. Not sure which it is, and i love him as a player, but it needs fixing.

Agree on strength / playing for fouls. Given the size/ability of the PL centre backs, think more likely to be a strength thing (big difference to Championship), but agree he's not going to get as many fouls.

Way he plays though, right on last defender - helps us stretch the game more. Wonder if KMC coaching Delap to play more in similar way, or sees him in a slightly different role.

Either way attacking unit still looks strong across the park

Delap / Hirst
Clarke/Szmodics/Broadhead | Hutchinson/Chaplin/Szmodics | Burns/Hutchinson/Delap(?)

Personally would love to see - Clarke Szmodics Hutchinson (not sure we've had that yet this season?)
