Football is rubbish isn't it.

And VAR sucks.

That is all.

Not really, we all knew it wasn’t going to be easy, personally I was happy with Saturday when you take away the major disappointment of the last goal, was a great game - plenty of entertainment, a great away end, we played really well and it was a good day out, it’s easier to enjoy the ride with games like that compared to West Ham and Everton.

I still think we’re going to be fine, we’re getting there.

But yes, VAR is rubbish.

I think we need to consider the last two seasons as being separate from what is happening now. It was the stuff of legends and nothing that happens now should be allowed to tarnish that. We'll have other promotions in the next few years (I suspect) but nothing will hit quite like the last couple of seasons.

And some of the names from those seasons are going to be legendary forever. There aren't many Town players I have as much affection for as I do Chappers, Burns, Morsy, Leif etc.

Yep, I'm still frustrated we didn't get the point we deserved but Saturday was a lot more enjoyable than the last two matches. Definitely a good day out.

I will forever remember that league one team that went unbeaten from January to May.

Walton
Clarke Woolfenden Burgess Davis
Morsy Luongo
Burns Chaplin Broadhead
Hirst

There’s no doubt in my mind had we had that team from the start of that season we would have won the league by a record total. And to then go and continue that success in the Championship with largely the same starting 11.

In some ways it’s quite sad we progressed so quickly we couldn’t enjoy it for longer.

VAR yes, it’s evil. But annoying though it was to lose at Brentford it at least felt mostly even and competitive and entertaining. Enjoyable, almost, if you look at in isolation.

A win over Leicester would be huge, obviously, but who among us hasn’t been kept awake at night by visions of Vardy scoring a late winner and then s5ithousing in front of the North Stand?

May does feel a long time ago, but not as long as Cameron.

Not really. I knew it was going to be a tough, long season. Saturday was a very enjoyable game, it had everything except the result. (which is obviously the most important thing) I love this club and I love football, so I just go most weeks and enjoy what is in front of me. No expectations. If I wanted to support a PL winning side with a regular crack at the Champions League, then I wouldn't be an Ipswich Town supporter. All Clubs are moaning about VAR, lets not be one of those clubs. Enjoy the games and hopefully the results will start to go our way.
