Whilst flicking through the cr@p click bait stories of the morning I saw one saying that McKenna will be sacked if he doesn't win the next game...
Would the powers that be, be that stupid?
I've always thought this season would be all about getting the money in.
Buying saleable assets and poss selling on at a profit if we went down, makes perfect business sense considering we still have a few players from the league one days.
What benefit to town would there be in sacking mckenna?
Personally I think it wouldn't and a replacement would make things worse. Just look at all of Alex ferg's replacements.

I saw a headline from footballworld247(?) which was something like 'Ipswich make sack decision'
Reading through all the guff they concluded that Ipswich weren't going to sack McKenna.

If it's the site I have seen, they're publishing multiple articles every day talking about someone making a decision of whether to sack someone or not for multiple clubs.
It's click baiting, the clue always is in titles like
IPSWICH MAKE MCKENNA SACK DECISION
NEWCASTLE CONSIDER HOWE SACK
Only to read the articles and there is no substance behind them whatsoever and the headlines themselves are baiting by not saying what the decision is.

Not saying McKenna is safe for ever, but he has plenty in the bank. Not a total free hit this season, with what we spent, but if we go down, he is best placed to get us straight back up. It’s click bait because the cowboys can’t afford to sack him - the £5million per year gamble was that he isn’t a one trick pony and might realise at some point that a more pragmatic approach is required to win a game or two. The fantasy was that some bigger club like Palace, Southampton or Wolves would pay the money to recruit him- which currently looks a non starter.
So at present the club and gizzusajob are in limbo - stuck with each other for better or worse. Don’t panic - all will be tickety boo IF Town can win a game before Xmas.
Things will never be as they were because gizzusajob was caught touting himself at the very moment everyone else was planning the club’s future - so all trust and respect has gone.
At present everyone blithely has expects the club to bounce straight back even if they go down so the cowboys are quite blasé - and at least there isn’t an away trip to Grimsby to look forward too.
Best revisit this about this time next year IF Town are doing a Luton with the added millstone of Leeds-style wages for dud signings. | |
