If Morsy kicks the ball out... on 09:42 - Nov 3 by FrimleyBlue | Its common sense hoof the fker. Get them as far back into their own half. You take 0 risk on losing the ball in your own half. Not even hindsight to know that. We lost the ball last week on halfway to which they then scored. The desperation to not critique a player is baffling. |
I absolutely guarantee if he'd booted it into touch then they'd taken a throw in and ended up scoring you'd be moaning/criticising still for him giving the ball back cheaply.

No because I was shouting hoof it the moment he made it near halfway. It's just common sense. No one around him. Leicester players catching him. Just hoof it and get your team a breather and a re set. Easier to defend from their corner flag than dealing with an un rushing counter from halfway. [Post edited 3 Nov 2024 9:48]

How many times have we seen him shield the ball and win a free kick though? The best decision is always the one you didn't take if it ends up in your net. Bigger issue for me was Burns. You've just got to be stronger and if necessary take a yellow card.

In the prem there's been many times he's lost the ball. It happens he's never gonna shield it spot on everytime likewise you can't count on the ref. We saw that even last season. Even more so when you've gassed for 90 odd minutes. The burns situation was terrible but he's not alone. We don't seem a side who takes a yellow for the team. It's needed sometimes. Morsy is absolutely powder puff here. And burns. Well just slide the fker [Post edited 3 Nov 2024 10:11]

If Morsy kicks the ball out... on 09:40 - Nov 3 by FrimleyBlue | So do you disagree with all those who said we didn't get anything from the ref all game? That was my point. If the ref didn't give us anything all game which a large majority of the forum have said. Then why do you feel he'd have got something in that moment. |
I haven't read much of the forum so don't know what to tell you about what people have said, but for me the ref got the major decisions wrong (and against us). In terms of soft fouls he was giving them all across the game. I didn't mention who to, that's not the point. I'd say he gave more to Leicester, but I'm biased and I think he gave a few soft ones to us as well. The point is, overall he was a weak ref giving fouls for the slightest nudge, on that occasion he didn't and it led to a goal. Not surprising people are a bit annoyed about that.

Just came in here to post this exact video. I still can’t work out if Morsy was pushed or if he just throws himself down. I think he assumed he’d win a foul so went down when he felt contact. The less said about Burns the better.

it kind of felt like we were, 8mins of injury time (not even sure where they got all that from but hey) and yet we played 10.

Putting aside the penalty, I just didn't understand his application of cards yesterday. Delap with three 'bulldozer' fouls, no card and two proper talkings to. Szmodics with a really poor challenge, no card (presumably because it was after 90 seconds, should that make a difference really?). Fatawu swipes Clarke's legs on a booking in a really promising position, no second yellow card. A minute later, Phillips second booking for a nothing challenge he pulls out of. And then he loses the plot and dishes out a load of yellows for 'time wasting'.

Hoof it down the pitch and give it back to them to hit it long into our box again? Our captain took responsibility in the moment and we were caught out by a quality goal. Morsy really couldn't win. The same people would be on here praising him for relieving the pressure and letting us get back into our shape if they hadn't have scored. If he had hoofed it and they scored people would be slating him. He did not have the benefit of hindsight in that moment.

Buonanotte waved an imaginary card at the ref whilst on a yellow and didn't get booked. Almost like he was making it up as he went along.

Quite, as I've mentioned elsewhere, quite a few on here being wise after the event. It's really easy if you play the game afterwards!
