Get well soon. Are there new strains of COVID in Norway now ? It is somewhere I always thought of as having pretty good defences against disease, both in terms of good healthcare and a dispersed population making contagion less likely. |  |

I had a horrible experience a couple of years ago, in Albania. Got food poisoning and started throwing up in the night. The hotel was not 24 hour manned and nothing was open. I had no water to drink as tap water was not recommended for drinking and I had forgotten to buy bottled. Throwing up throughout the night, with nothing to rinse your mouth with, is not nice. | |

We were in a hytte which was not great fun.
A friend of mine, who worked in a lab in Norway, managed to delay it for a bit using low dose arsenic tablets but as soon as they ran out, the bug fully hit him too. [Post edited 3 Nov 2024 13:33]

Me too. Had them both the other week.
Vaccinations only cover a percentage of the viruses out there, but I’ll take any reduction in risk.
I’ve had covid once a few years back and that was enough. I felt alright, but energy levels were reduced to zero. So tired and it took days to feel more normal and weeks before I felt 100% again.
No nice - my sympathies to anyone who gets it. |  | | |

No. In my job it would mean wearing a mask every day for the last 4 years, which is not feasible. I do insist on all my patients who present with acute respiratory problems, wear a mask until Covid and flu are ruled out. | |
