This season was always going to be a struggle. 06:09 - Dec 9 with 925 views | Benters | I’m sure if we were really being honest about it we’d all feel the same. I have always said 17th is the target this season,so we will always be in or around the bottom 6. My dear old Ma God Bless her would always say to me ‘never expect to much out of life that way you won’t get disappointed if things don’t work out’. We are not too far away from 17th place are we. Keep smiling people it will soon be Christmas 🎅.

This season was always going to be a struggle. on 07:18 - Dec 9 with 825 views | slade1 | Good post Benters and one that I agree with, also I think most fans that have been supporting this club over the years (and not just the last couple of seasons) would agree with it too. We are 3 points away from the mix, 3 points away from a bunch of teams separated by just a few points. We have been playing decent football and a lot of our dropped points have been through individual errors, not bad team play. We literally jumped from league one to the premier league in 24 months. It was always going to be hard. If we can string a couple of results together, without individual errors then we will be well in the mix. Something tells me that the only supporters that are moaning are the ones that have jumped on the bandwagon suddenly when we started to do well in league one.
This season was always going to be a struggle. on 07:50 - Dec 9 with 761 views | mikeybloo88 | Of course it was always going to be a struggle. The lack of realism amongst some fans talking of mid table was pretty naive. Of course mistakes would be made. Management has made them, KM has made them, players have made them and fans have made them. We’re all learning. All the clubs we cite as examples to follow such as Brentford, Brighton, Forest and Bournemouth, they all made them and had games like yesterday during their first season back. Forest were dead and buried we thought a few seasons ago at this stage, but turned it around. We can too….lets stop turning on each other and the team. I said a few months ago I’d not get on KM’s back this season and I still won’t…he has big decisions to make about certain players in the next month, both those in the team and at the club, and those not yet here, so let’s not put any more pressure on him.
This season was always going to be a struggle. on 08:11 - Dec 9 with 713 views | FrimleyBlue | The struggle was expected. But not only 1 win in 15. That wasn't. Esp no wins against any of the bottom 7 teams. Hopefully this can change next week.

This season was always going to be a struggle. on 08:42 - Dec 9 with 637 views | BloomBlue | Fans didn't realistically look at the evidence. Burnley had walked the Championship and when they struggled in the PL last season, other fans laughed at them 'imploding'. The fact is Burnley weren't that bad, the evidence was the gap between the Champ and PL was wider than people would accept - mind the gap and all that. Burnley won 5 games last, that should have been an evidence based warning to fans. Also throw in the fact where we've been playing football for the last 20 years, and fans should have a more realistic expectation. Although conversely I accept when you've had 2 seasons of continued success, especially with home form, 2 defeats against Palace & B'mouth is hard to take. Football is about passion, some fans will always overreact after a defeat because of passion. But fans need to be realistic. Walking out of grd yesterday speaking to a fan I've never spoken with before he was saying he was always expecting us to be 4th bottom but thought we would have 4 or 5 wins under our belt by now. That number of wins would put us midtable, and summed up perfectly for me some of our fans ie, 'we'll struggle and finish 17th but after 15 games I was expecting us to be midtable'. Fans need to be realistic.
This season was always going to be a struggle. on 09:06 - Dec 9 with 576 views | peterleeblue | In reality we are probably 4 points behind where we realistically could be. Leicester (2) / Bournemouth (1) and maybe 1 at Brentford 3 points we probably shouldn't have got at Spurs. So we are 1 point below where we probably should be.

Overall yesterday was a reasonable performance against a very good team. A moment of madness and a few millimetres onside caught us. We couldn’t say that about some of our performances earlier in the season. I fear we will go down but we aren’t a poor side.
This season was always going to be a struggle. on 09:25 - Dec 9 with 526 views | ringwoodblue | I didn’t expect us to be quite so competitive in nearly every game so in that respect the team are exceeding my expectations. I think what’s really tough to take is the massive downer of only winning 1 in 15 after the highs of two such incredible seasons. The jump to the PL almost looks like an impossible task now as it’s doesn’t matter how much money you spend (within the FFP rules), it’s never going to be enough to compete. The Chelsea bench yesterday had a value of 2.5 times our starting XI. What does that tell you?
