I'm completely fed up with having to deal with these types of pile-ons from the same users time and again. All long-term users, they've been asked nicely and not so nicely on many occasions in relation to various other posters. Some of it is trolling, some of it just plain bullying. So, what do we do, ban them or ask for them to treat other posters and ourselves with greater respect once again?

Thanks, but not really about posters getting a bit emotional but spite and nastiness that no one should be posting or have to put up with on here.

As Stokie has pointed out on numerous occasions, and you are well aware, it is the usual gang that seem to have a sixth sense when it comes to swarming and then taking turns to stick the boot in, egging each other on. One of them clearly keeps a list of perceived grievances going back years and years and constantly regurgitates the same spiteful stuff at every opportunity. I don’t know how many times you’ve said the same thing, made the same plea, but I do vividly recall your frustration when an ‘ahem’ warning from yourself is then instantly uparrowed by the very individuals in that clique. Other posters have been banned for far less. You’re obviously at your wit’s end with them to ask the question as to what you should do about them. I guess the real question is, do you really need them on here? If the answer is no, maybe the shock of a short term holiday is the best solution. I don’t think the forum will collapse without their constant output and bullying.

Don’t remember one of these plea’s for guidance before the recent bans for comparatively trivial posts. In slight mitigation on some topics at least one of those posters is empathetic, articulate and supportive, which is why what they did on that thread is such a shame.

That doesn’t work, some individuals just find unpleasant ways round it.

It is a shame that he got to mark his own homework before the thread got locked. I fear you may now have your own column on the hit list.

Thread locked... on 13:32 - Feb 5 with 5386 views | lowhouseblue | the trouble is that starting a thread to express your very real and understandable, not to say near saintly, frustration, you're giving all those who see themselves as on the other side to the posters involved in this week's fracas an opportunity to wave their imaginary red cards and settle old scores. very little on here is one sided.
| And so as the loose-bowelled pigeon of time swoops low over the unsuspecting tourist of destiny, and the flatulent skunk of fate wanders into the air-conditioning system of eternity, I notice it's the end of the show |

I highly doubt it as I don't post enough to be on anyone's radar and frankly I don't care if I am. If anything it'll show him/her for who they are.

Not so much that but have always put stuff to the Forum in this manner, changes such as the general/football tab etc. Conscious it's not just our Forum but those who use it.

They then disappear and another comes poster comes in blaming the victim of the personal attacks for arguing. Then the final poster puts the nail in the coffin with a quite frankly weird list of someone's posting history, which again had nothing to do with the thread whatsoever. Not fussed whether anyone gets banned or not, but it was a horrible advert for any new person wanting to post on here

short term bans might be a good starting point; if the tag team behaviour/unprovoked insults carry on, make them longer

What you mean here is that you are amazed GlasgowBlue is still on here given he has a different opinion to the left-wing/liberal majority.

Because of my job, it’ll be the last Cheltenham I get to go for the whole week for. And there’s a good bunch of us going intending to go out each night in the surrounding areas (we’re staying in Bristol). So that means I won’t be doing any previews this year. Can tell you a few horses I like though and am heavily invested in.. 1) Kopek Des Bourdes - Supreme (albeit Turners would’ve been a better result but he’s staying over 2m) 2) Jagwar - Novice Handicap (he’s chucked in. 5/1 still available. Wins). 3) Sir Gino - Arkle. Been backing that for a good while. Few nervy moments when he started the season over hurdles but he’s always looked a chaser. Be very disappointed if he doesn’t win. Reckon he wins the 2026 Champion Chase too. 4) Credbilly - Plate. 12s available in places and it’s just blatantly a plot. First run over 3m, then down to 2m when he’s always been one for intermediate trips. Should’ve won last year but for a mistake at the last and this will be a weaker renewal anyway (due to the new novice handicap). 5) Final Demand - Turners. He looks a bit special. In fact the double with Kopek should land. Both look top class novices. As for my own, I’ve Lulamba at 25s antepost for 4-figures and he’s 6/4 now. Have a decent return loaded up onto Galopin Des Champs for the GC and even though Kopek is going to the wrong race for me for big money (again 4-figures), he is still one I got on for the supreme NRNB so worth a decent return. Will message you on twitter if I get stuck into much else between now and March but having gone through my antepost position the other day, if I end the week worse than 5k up, I’ll be abit dissappinted. For early February, I’m in as good a position as you can get really.

Aside from anything else, when he described the actual dish, £19.50 sounded like a rather delicious bargain. But being a sausage and mash socialist I guess I would say that.
Thread locked... on 14:09 - Feb 5 with 4674 views | Ryorry | Really good that you only locked the thread rather than deleting it; this means that “evidence” of previous comments remains available for reference. I think a lot of historic arguments resurface because people disagree over what was actually said years (decades sometimes!) ago. Lastly, I know you and Gav are too busy to watch every thread (and you shouldn’t have to), but there’s often a point at which seasoned posters know a thread’s about to go downhill. Would it be possible for Gav to add a kind of ‘lock hint’ alert for the times when the‘report abuse’ one is just too extreme?
