Not the Friday tunes thread but - Friday 'H' tunes if you please on 11:45 - Jun 27 by WeWereZombies
And, allegedly, Lenny preferred version of his song (both get referenced in Zadie Smith's 'On Beauty'.)
This is an absolutely jaw-dropping cultural artefact, in so many ways:
I had the jabs, but it wasn't because a seven year old girl lectured me on the science, in an admittedly beautiful voice, by ransacking an icon of counter-culture.

From the album London 0 Hull 4 and sung by Paul Heaton with Hugh Whittaker on drums and backing vocals.
So maybe 6 points?
Plus it's all about end-of-week, after-work drinks, so bang on for a Friday "H" thread.
Yeah, it's what I came to post.
It was a bit more than that.
A song ahead of its time, Rolling Stone noted that despite "irrepressibly giddy music hooks", the song's "sobering" lyrics "hammer away at the hypocrisy and sexism of young British business types on the move".
"It's another night out with the boss Following in footsteps overgrown by moss And he tells me could women grow on trees And if you catch them right, they will land upon their knees
Where they open all their wallets and they close all their minds And they love to buy you all a drink And as we ask all the questions, and you take all your clothes off Go back to the kitchen sink"
As regards the band, I saw them in 1986 and (along with Billy Bragg and Dick Gaughan) they were far and away the most witty artists I have seen with plenty of banter and funny anecdotes.

Made it all the way through, but I am a cynical old git - who will get his umpteenth jab this autumn.
