Chap's a decent CEO/Chairman/[insert new role here], but he's also one heck of a self-aggrandising berk.
You don't see CEOs of other big clubs gurning with the likes of Springsteen/Elton/Ozzy Osborne when they happen to play at their stadia.

For many years, Elton John and the Watford Chairman were inseperable. The Chairman travelled everywhere with Elton, was in every picture, toured and stayed in the same hotels. They even shared baths, a bed and the same clothes at the same time.

We live in a content obsessed world. It's far more likely our media team are shadowing Ed's every move and Ashton just happened to come and wish him luck than whatever you are imagining.
None of the comparisons you mentioned are anything like this...
I would understand it if Ashton had gone onstage or walked Wardley to the ring but a picture behind the scenes? You absolute helmet.
Such a poor take. The guy has helped to drag us from obscurity, worked his ass off on the stadium and training ground, set up a boxing event, helped to get one of the biggest stars in the world to Portman Road bringing loads of money into the town, set up a local charity that’s already raised £200k for local kids, and you’ve got issue with him having a picture with one of our shareholders. He can take his top off and jump around on stage with Ed for all I care, this club and town owe him a massive debt of gratitude

Aside what's already been said on this thread, what on earth is wrong with MA? Under his stewardship, we've seen success unlike anything we've seen since the 90's !

What a terribly strange post.

I think there’s an an element of teeing up Ashton for abuse if this season doesn’t go so well. Some people love a hate figure, even if they don’t know them.
Of course his pic was taken with Sheeran. I really can’t see a problem with it.
As for Ed Sheeran himself, he’s been nothing but good for ITFC. His music isn’t my cup of tea (inoffensive, just not my thing) but I did hear him play live some years ago by accident and he isn’t where he is for nothing. Sheeran’s immensely talented, appeals to a worldwide audience so good luck to him.

I mean, I'm not a fan of ED's music or MA's love of management speak but this is an essentially inoffensive piece of marketing guff.
Ah, Ed Sheeran bingo, whenever there's a thread remotely involving him someone always has to tell everyone that they're not a fan of his music but... Always strikes me as very insecure!

Strictly speaking, I don't know ifs I like his music or not, given that I tend to forget it minutes after it's been played to me.
I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

I think it’s often considered ’cool’ to be cynical to some extent on here; OP was probably expecting appreciation for his ‘edgy take’, but simply misread the room (easily done).
