Perhaps. But it is grossly unfair to get a red for a non offence. We got shafted by that 2 or 3 times last season. No less unfair than getting a straight red for a non offence. The conequences are the same, so no reason not to have the same backup check. | | | |

VAR looks out for red cards the whole match in case the referee misses one. I would not want VAR doing that for second yellow cards, as we would be forever pausing for VAR checks. | | | |
