In terms of writing, the hyphens in the title to this song could perhaps be regarded as a type of space between the words. And in terms of pronunciation they suggest a pause, or space, between words.

Hmmm, dipping in and out of the offside position in the hope that a) the opposition will pass back to the goalie etc. whilst you are onside; or b) the lino will get confused and give you a free pass.
Your post has also reminded me of this:
[For the unitiated, the first YouTube is two sides of a blank LP]

Difficult one, I wouldn't allow the ellipsis on the same grounds as I have been stern about exclamation marks, colons and so on, but then there is a space between the non-alphabetic characters and the 'Y' which in brain equates to a slurred (or even sneered) spoken 'ready'. Not wishing to start a new thread maybe we could continue this one with expressive but not linguistic song titles ? There must be some Jacques Brel ones, if there are are then maybe there are some Scott Walker covers.

I've never heard that but isn't it just the most punk (in the accepted media terminology of how punk should sound although I suspect those who cannot do anything but categorise bands have Wire down as post-punk) track. A too often neglected quartet, I missed 'Pink Flag' but bought, and was mostly puzzled by, 'Chairs Missing' and always meant to get hold of '154' but never did.
I would give you an uppy for posting that but it belongs in the number thread.
Not completely representative if their oeuvre but more Pink Flaggish than not. I love Wire, one of the smartest efficient bands ever. Chairs Missing is a classic and 154 has a few absolute beauties on it (though more expansive). Elastica shamelessly pinched their song of course (and the Stranglers’).
