Of course Woolfenden and Chaplin will still play, but they won’t be mainstays like before. They only made 22 starts between them last season. When we play Birmingham, it’ll probably be 8 or 9 changes from our last Championship game. It’ll feel very different, that’s all.

Chaplin was injured for a long time last season. We missed him. He will hopefully play a lot more this coming season.

Personally I agree, I think he brings better balance, particularly without Omari. But he only started 7 of 19 before his injury, so I don’t think that made much difference last season.

Chaplin will as he's a forward player and more likely to benefit from rotation. Woolfenden is clearly fourth choice centre back and will only play in the league if O'Shea is tired, injured, suspended or... for some reason... McKenna reverts to a back three. At his age he needs to be starting games but, outside of the cups, he won't be.
