Yes, I can hear the butt boys filling up nicely. A happy sound.

I actually like the rain. Mind you I’m off to Scarborough Monday to watch cricket (Yorks v Essex) for a couple of days (p£ss up) and suspect there will be more idling in the boozer than the cricket ground.

Sounds nice doesn’t it the rain falling and being collected.

Have a pint for me when you are away.

I will. It was Northampton and Birmingham last year and Blackpool the year before. Rain affected both trips which meant more time in the pub, restaurants, chilling and ambling. There are worse ways to spend the time.

Put up some mini guttering on the shed yesterday and will test what is collected before installing a butt or other form of water collector. Getting into this!

I’m probably being dim … but why are lancs and Essex playing in Yorkshire ?

Poll: Is it an issue for you that the new England manager is foreign ?

Good spot! They’re not. It’s me being dim. I’ve corrected it. It’s Yorkshire - I’m easily confused even if I was staring at the e-tickets yesterday (doh!)

Ahhhhh … lol .. well have a cracking time.. my old dad’s 2 teams he followed…he played in the Yorkshire league too which as you’ll know is more or less county standard and in retirement virtually took up residency at Chelmsford.

That’s a very high standard. Good on him. He must of been very good. I loved playing cricket - shame I was rubbish at it, but the memories of those summer days getting out cheaply all over Kent (club cricket) followed by a few libations are happy ones.

Having lived here so long I actually follow Kent I suppose, but my chums and i will go to games all over the place just for the chill out. We’ve done Oval and Northants this year (the rain did for Lords this time) and I think we’ve got Hampshire v somebody for the day next month (it’s areal s0d of a place to get to).
