Coventry are back in the market and closing in on a £3-4 mil new CM. Having added Grimes and having Eccles, Torp, Allen they are well stocked in there.

General feeling is Sheaf will move on this summer having not been allowed to leave last summer. Had an injury last season and his head was turned by our and other interest.

I'm convinced we will be back in and he's and absolutely ideal Luongo replacement. Proper rolls Royce in the champ. Great on the ball, brilliant in the track back tackle. Believe he can play Prem. Only downside is he tends to miss 10-15 games over a champ season with knocks because he plays the way he does.

For me he is just what we need wand will cost £7-10 mil now. They wanted £20 last summer.

If I'm being honest I think we might have set our sights higher just hope we have not set it too high and end up struggling to get the required deals done ? But suppose we have to trust the clubs judgement.

I think he's quite weak I'd say we've gone passed him,

Harsh but last season missed lots of games often taken off when he did start. I think we are looking for better.

He’s a very average championship midfielder in my book. I’d be underwhelmed if we dropped anything like that sort of money on him.

£20??? That's cheap!!

Bang average championship midfielder imo. Doesn't excite me at all.

At 27, no chance of a profit on him either.

Jack Rudoni would be the one I'd look at from Coventry.

Rudoni we should of when at Huddersfield not now they want 15 million and I don't believe his value will increase much a good championship player.

He absolutely isn't. I've seen him a lot live midlands. He's been one of the best championship defenders over the last 3-4 years no doubt. He's outstanding at this level and confident he can step up.

Only way you could say average champ midfielder is if seen very very little of him. There is a reason they turned down. Big money last summer and wouldn't let go for less than £20 mil.

See him as more of a Morsy replacement. Put out excellent defensive stats the season we went up. When I thought the premiership was less of a step up I was very keen. But less so now.

I think he's a decent player and would not be averse to seeing him at Town, but in no world do I see us dropping £20m on a champ midfielder who will be 28 at the end of the season.

£7-10m is about right given his age.

I see Hackney is starting today so whilst it doesn't mean much i think it's safe to say we won't be seeing him join this weekend.

a niche perspective

My fear with all our targets is we get over ambitious and are scratching around in the last week of the window hopefully this won't materialise.

Pay in excess of £7 Million for a player that could miss a Quarter (10 games) a season??
Are you sure.

Wasn't impressed in the few games I saw of him last season and has suffered a lot with injuries - wonder if they're signing the new guy to play alongside or to displace him.

Not for me Clive. I’ve seen a fair bit of him, he’s one of those who strikes me as a really solid player, good at a lot of things but I’m not convinced he’s great at any. I’d wager he’ll spend his career in the 2nd tier and there’s no shame in that, but not one for me that screams step up or premier league potential.

I slightly share you fears but I think it's quite likely we have eyes on one or two loans we could turn too if necessary but of course that will not happen until after the season starts .

I like Sheaf but I'd prefer Jason Knight, if he's gettable.
