Lots of options at number 10, that's what the squad's there for. Had good run of availability since international break. This week, a little bit tighter, one or two who have missed training will be back hopefully. Will need squad when there's seven games in 21 days.

QPR have been good from start of season. Had one bad game in the season, which can happen. Other than that, have been solid, especially in forward positions. Good organisation with new manager, defend well, threat with the front four. Can see why difficult opponent.

Not spoken to Azor re QPR boss, who was at Reims. Will do later. But not sure he can give me too many nuggets.

Changes at QPR under new manager. A lot of new players since we last played them. Didn't see them a lot last season. Cook important for them, new forwards, really different group. Thought they were well coached. Quite a turnover after the last two years. See a really good Championship team.

Sam S has had surgery, not big surgery. In block of games after international break should be back. Akpom, impact injury, should be OK for Saturday.

I don't want to be that guy, and i dont wish injury on anyone but for that 10 role, im actually gutted akpoms back for saturday

he's just not a 10, not for us. a striker tho perhaps.

a niche perspective

Last time at QPR, important one to remember. QPR game, was really, really tough, lots of Championship games are like that. This season even tighter than two years ago, not many or any poor teams, games decided on small margins. From mindset point of view, know it's going to be really tight. They had a couple of chances and Chappers popped up with really scruffy goal, what it took to get on the right side of the result.

Kone, great story, don't know all the details of it. Cam Humphreys speaks highly of him, important part of that Wycombe team.

Sensing differnt Championship to previous years? I think the competitive across the division is even higher. Parachute teams have advantage but investment from lower teams higher. Wrexham, Birmingham etc, brings bottom of division up. More competitive than ever. Different challenges for different teams. Lots of teams have good squad depth. See benefit of teams who have been together for a while, Coventry, for example. Competitive division.

Jack Taylor impressive, big chance for him. Delighted for and with him. Exactly what we're going to need. Played a fair bit at the start of the season, but others have come in. He's kept at it, signed new contract, stepped into the team, the sort of thing we're going to need. Really good player, wants to push on.

Committed to the project here, the people here. Like to think that's been pretty clear over last few years.

No link between link with Celtic and Town's current position, lot of change, new group, big challenge on hands here. Know where we're at with the project here. Separate to any other situation. Scale of task is such I can't turn my mind elsewhere.

Competitiveness of Champ v lack of in SPL. Not something considered, not made that comment for that reason. Focus on here and now.

My focus only on Ipswich. We all grow up as football supporters, have affinities with different clubs. Know the size of this club as well, when you're in a job no time to think about these things. Work here as if I'm going to be here forever. When arrived thought always going to be a long-term project. Lot of cranes etc outside here. I'll work as if I'm always going to be Ipswich manager - I won't be at some time I will move on - but can't let that get in the way of the day to day.

Potential compensation big? In every manager's contracts there are contractual things, I don't know what they are, not my focus.

Absolutely love this bloke. Never, ever, let him leave.

Oh c'mon, I could eat jam in a scone day in, day out but lemon curd ? That's once every three months...on toast. If McKenna were to prefer lemon curd I could not only tolerate him going to Celtic but leaving us with no other option than Russell Martin.

According to my social circle, your preference for jam over lemon curd would suggest you have Gaelic/Catholic roots
