Shock horror, we're not matching probably the best start to a season in the club's history. Some 'supporters' just have to find a negative angle, even after a 4-1 win.

no need to be so melodramatic. Just thought it was kinda interesting.

What is there to be interested in? Shall we share the points from the season before. It doesn't mean anything but is interesting

Because that was then and this is now. Have you got 1988 there as well somewhere?

| this week, 2 years ago on 18:31 - Nov 1 with 908 views | baxterbasics | Let's face it, that was an incredible season in which KM made some kind of deal with Satan, or found a magic lamp or something, and got absolute career best out of a bunch of players who in any other team would not get a sniff of premier league football. Add to that one of the big faves for promotion pooping the bed towards the end of the season. But we best see that as a one-off set of circumstances never to be repeated in that way. Or at least only once in a generation. We could play ten seasons in the Championship with the very same squad and not do as well as that. After the last 18ish months we know McKenna is not the untouchable infallible genius who can do little wrong. But he is still a great young manager learning his trade with plenty of highs to come with us, hopefully, and I still feel we are lucky to have him. | |

Ah right, so its another one of those, "this side isn't as good as that side" posts? That side gave us our worst ever Premier League season.

Of course it’s of interest to make comparisons between one of our greatest ever seasons at this level and now. One thing interesting is that our GA column was almost the same at this stage in 23/24.

In a strange way this slower burn work our way up the table is as if not more enjoyable. Seeing a new team slowly formulate into hopefully something special. Our squad depth and quality should pay off as the season hits the depths of winter and the half way point.

It's not tho. It's been obvious this season hasn't been the same as that season result wise. We don't need a league table to know that. So it does become a bit uninteresting.
