| Philogene v Broadhead 23:24 - Nov 4 with 1536 views | davblue | I like Philogene, he’s a decent finisher, but I personally feel like Broadhead added more to our overall game/ build up play with his ball carrying ability and his clever movement than Jaden does. | | | | |

His goalscoring record has certainly masked some overall fairly average performances

I see Philogene as a kind of low budget Sancho He clearly has some technical ability and composure but is lightweight and not as fast as you would like him to be He clearly has talent but he has limitations too Broadhead linked up play better and was less selfish, he clearly doesn't seem tp suit Wrexham's system so well, not that is our problem A classical touchline hogging wing with pace is something we lack really, both Clarke and Philogene invert primarily Egeli is growing on the right and starting to show some qualities, he too could do with a pacey outlet around him. He looks better with Nunez on the pitch, they seem to understand each other a bit better. It was inteteresting to see Furlong make overlaps tonight, that looks like it is being worked on

I would definitely give Clarke a run in the team now. Philogene has been poor really amd I think Clarke can add a lot to the way we play if he’s given a long run in the team.
| Philogene v Broadhead on 07:10 - Nov 5 with 999 views | RobTheMonk | We've sacrificed Davis' forward play to accommodate him. Davis who had the record amount of assists from a fullback a few seasons back... Currently only one assist. Broadhead was a very clever player and knew how to create the space. | | | |
| Philogene v Broadhead on 07:15 - Nov 5 with 969 views | itfcsuth | No comparison currently. For the benefit of the team, Broadhead was clear, but it worked as part of a trio of Broady, Chaplin, Burns - they complimented each other, their cohesion was mind blowing, with Leif adding to that attacking dynamic. Right now it just looks like individuals, no real connection. | | | |

He beats a man very often when he gets the ball. The trouble is it’s then a 45/45/10 as to whether he’ll beat the next/run into him/or pass [Post edited 5 Nov 7:16]

Often the case with players who have quick feet but not the straight line speed to get clear afterwards. See also Clarke and Cajuste

This is a very valid point, his end product and decision making is seriously questionable. At times he’ll do good followed instantly with really poor work. It looks like he plays for his own personal highlight reel rather than the overall team benefit.

Clarke I don't think is slow, he is just either too clever for his own good or lacks the basic decision making at times to do the right thing He got into to a position last night where I think Philogene pronably would have shot with the goal gaping but instead decided to take on his man again, getting himself into a worse positon At times you wish he had a left foot and just swung a ball in on the left foot

| Philogene v Broadhead on 16:24 - Nov 5 with 654 views | SheffordBlue | Philogene's out of possession play is way better than Broadhead's for me. More tackles per 90 than everyone except Matusiwa, Cajuste and Young. Tracks his men etc. Think the connection with Leif has got much better recently and was a shame that Davis wasn't available last night. Lots of criticism of him 'falling over' or getting fouled as some like to call it. Clearly a balance for this but it won us two free kicks from which we scored on Saturday. He maybe just needs to get smarter about it when the ref has a high threshold for contact - as he did last night. | |

I very much hope he keeps on being poor if this is our current definition of the most overused word on this board.

This thread is an interesting combo of revisionism about Broadhead and some quite wild takes on our top scorer and arguably our biggest talent.

Where would we be without JP’s goals though? I get the argument for switching it for away games but it would be nuts imho to take out one of your main goal scoring threats from home matches

Don’t forget a touch amnesia about Broadhead over his time here, and a dose of delusion about our current wonder talent. [Post edited 5 Nov 18:27]
