Greaves at left back against Swans? 22:23 - Nov 6 with 1730 viewsBlacknGoldnBlue

If Leif hasn't recovered I'd like to see Greaves given a chance at left back..On paper it makes us a bit more secure at the back but ut also allows Greaves to maraud forward which he's shown he can do, look comfortable doing.

Do I think KM with do it...no!

But I'd like to see it.

I don’t think Davis will be risked.

I think Greaves could get the call, made a good cameo the other night.

Yep Greaves for me too, looked very impressive in his cameo role the other night.

Left back?

Left back in the changing room, ideally.

Maybe my memory has slipped, but didn't Greaves get a short run of games at LB last year?

He did during Leif's suspension.

Agreed - didn’t disgrace himself. We need him back full of confidence, going to need him over the season.

Boniface....

but it won't happen. He's one of the 21s best performers and a real LB. But gap is too big....

For me, it should be Young. Played there for England and pointless having him here if he can't deputise.

Yes please. Johnson was fine but think it's much better to have a left footer.

I do think there is always a little bit of bias towards players who come on against tired legs and look very effective.

Jack Clarke looked great off the bench, not as effective from the start.
Ivan Azon looked great off the bench, not as effective from the start.
Marcelino Nunez looked great off the bench, not as effective from the start.

Same with Greaves on Tuesday. List goes on but you get the picture.

When Greaves came on he made some good runs with the ball and I thought made a difference. He would carry more threat than Johnson with the ball. Not that Johnson had a bad game but Greaves could certainly fill in on Saturday.

Quite. What is the point of Young if he’s only going to get a runout every 6 weeks or so. It seems a lot of money for someone to just be an experienced head in training. We could have just kept someone like Mass on for a fraction of the price.

That's one of the things that has surprised me the most this season; that we haven't seen more of Young on the pitch. I thought he looked very good earlier in the season, when he was starting or coming on as a sub.

I have noted that he doesn't appear to come out at half-time for the warm-ups, though, so I wonder if he's been brought in with more of an eye on coaching than playing?

You ain't a beauty but, hey, you're alright.

How big is this gap. Or is just an ipswich thing.

I swear other champ clubs get u21s into their squads.

They do but they don't have our budget

I'm amazed no club has looked to loan Bonniface or Mendel-Idowu, the u21's level looks wild, it's very very attacking with lots of fast breaks which may help develop an understanding of how we play but does it prepare you for the cut and thrust of professional football?

Alcohol is the answer but I can't remember the question!
