Granted, that now I can only go to PR a few times a season but do the stewards actually enforce seating down in the NS? When I attended every match, they gave the impression that they never really cared whether people sat or stood
If that’s still the case, what’s the point in introducing safe standing in the NS?

1. It's safer than fans falling over seats 2. It stops flash points as/when stewards try to enforce sitting 3. If it was unallocated it would enhance the atmosphere 4. It would ensure club wasn't breaking any regs 5. It's what people there want

I’m in there and I don’t want it.
I’ve been in safe standing before, it’s an atmosphere killer, you feel miles away from everyone.

I think there was aweek or 2 about 10 years ago where they tried to get people to sit down, wasn't very effective and was ignored. It's absolutely fine how it is.

6. You can’t have people standing there, if some want/need to sit. With standing it needs to be none or all.

Without googling it, I’m fairly sure that it is football law that every spectator has a designated seat
