As a fan in my 20s, Leif is my favourite player I've ever seen play for Town. He's the perfect embodiment of the McKenna era/teams - which has been by far my best time supporting us. His constant hard work, spirit, quality and commitment to the club ensure that. Clearly he can't be ahead of the LBs who have done it for us in the top flight (and at the top of the top flight, especially), but he's every bit the top-tier club legend already for me. He's the player, I think, that taking out of that team would limits its success the most. I find the disproportionate criticism aimed towards him baffling - though maybe it's because he commands such high standards. Anyway, Leif love-in over | | | |

Not of all time, but he’s the best LB we’ve had since we fell out of the PL with Burley. I don’t think Cresser was any better when he was with us and he would be the only competition. Mings not even close. I think he’s the best player at the club at the moment too, and quite possibly the best LB in the league (although I’d qualify that like they always did with Trent Alexander-Arnold, and add the best attacking left back).
For anyone under 30 or so he’ll be the best they’ve seen for us. |  |

He's a completely different full back to any full back we've had before. The closest to how he plays is Cresswell.
Mills, Treacle at al are more traditional full backs - yes they supported and got forward but no one in the history of Ipswich has been asked to play the role he does for us.
So in that regard, yes, he is actually one of the best full backs we have ever had. Does he make our best XI no. But you cannot compare him to what has gone before. |  |

If Leif had a capable midfielder or centre half playing behind him last season he would still be in the prem now.
He looked bad at defending because he had no cover at all, from anyone. |
Disageee, positionally he isn't the best, he isn't brilliant one on one and can switch iff at times
I've no doubt he is getting better in some aspects but he isn"t there yet |  |

However, has anyone else noticed how he does seem to be improving on his defending?
There was a great bit of ball protection on saturday and i can't say i've seen leif beaten at the back post as much as he was historically. IMO he does seem to be improving in this area of his game. |  |
