Just thinking, on norwich stat 17:28 - Nov 10 with 1741 viewsJeff_winger

If it hadn't been for that nunez free kick against us in 2024
We would now be unbeaten against them for 6 years.

That's how sh1t that whole 16 year thing is.
In the last 6 years they've beaten us once by one goal.

Exactly. It will be 2 years unbeaten against them when we play them in April!

Or alternatively, 100% record against them for 2 years 🙂

So in the past 6 years we’re actually tied at 1 all, but we’re ahead on goal difference.

I thought this thread would be about their new record (only side to lose their first seven games at home in the second tier).

Does anyone know when the open top bus tour is scheduled?

On TNC they ae still talking about the 16 years thing. How many times did we play them in 16 years ? They talk about the 16 years almost as much as lambert talks about playing BM and the Goss goal. Move on PLEASE

As he plays for us now, I reckon we should annexe that goal and claim it for ourselves.

Therefore, it *is* 6 years of dominance.

Or something...

We’ll likely have more dominance in the next 16 years over them, lose a couple but win more. Measuring football success in wins over years, when teams are often not in the same division, makes no sense at all. I don’t think we’ve ever beaten Wrexham (having played and lost to them once) - wonder if their fans will be singing 100 years or whatever.

Oh, I say let them keep going on about it, even encourage them, because it keeps them trapped in their glorious past. Which is very funny. Haha.

The unbeaten years stat means nothing if you’re not playing each other consistently across that period. For example, Ipswich’s longest unbeaten run in the derby if counted in terms of time is 5 years and 10 months between April 1985 and February 1991. But nobody of an Ipswich persuasion goes on about it as that period contained 3 matches (1 in the league and 2 in the Simod/ZDS Cup).

14 matches unbeaten is impressive and I will take my hat off to them for achieving it, our own longest run is 8 matches between March 1978 and December 1980. But it distorted what had always been a back-and-forth fixture. It’s just that during the 2010s, one club had apathy ruling it from top to bottom…but those days are gone now.
