| McKenna's credit in the bank 22:27 - Nov 28 with 4092 views | gtsb1966 | Disappearing at a rapid rate. We've spent a fortune for this very mediocre league and in 17 games have failed to beat.. Birmingham Southampton Preston Derby Bristol City Middlesbrough Charlton Wrexham Oxford. Watford. Im struggling to see why so many see him as the way forward. We do the same old things every week. For me we need a change. It has all gone stale. He wont replicate the past. Time to move on. | | | | |

Not a dig at you as others are saying the same, 3 points off 2nd. Yes but please ask yourself how, for me it’s because the league is bang average at best this season. Coventry are the true example of where we should be in terms of money that was available and a manager that got back to back. How we are here is down to the manager he is really the only person to blame. Should he go lucky that is for the board to decide not me or any other fan.

Three. Points. From. Sixteenth Under 1.6 PPG this season. 4 points from a Wrexham, Hull and Oxford who were without Moore, Mcbernie and Branningan respectively. Not a good 6 days really.

| McKenna's credit in the bank on 06:37 - Nov 29 with 652 views | ernie | Not all on him as there is a certain mental fragility to this side when the chips are down; an unwillingness to put bodies on the line to get a result. But yes, with more ruthless foreign owners (Forest) McKenna would already have been moved on - promotion is the be all and end all this season and this league is particularly weak this year. We are missing a huge opportunity if we don’t go up. | | | |

| McKenna's credit in the bank on 08:44 - Nov 29 with 535 views | Blue_Heath | Absolutely spot on Sudders, For me its the fact we are trying to play the same out from the back, tippy, tappy walk it into the net possession based football which is yesterday's news now. McKenna was a master at it in L1 but the game has moved on again, we won't be able to do in the premier league, imagine how much better the press will force even more mistakes and the chance creation conversion we give away will be clinical. I don't see a single player (perhaps Egeli in the future) that is of the standard we need to become what we are trying to achieve and you are right the tactics have been found out. It's so easy, have a bit of a press wait for someone to misplace a pass, seize the opportunity or like we saw yesterday when the left back is up front play a long ball down the side. I really hope McKenna sorts it out and not calling for his head just yet but I am becoming increasingly frustrated. Looking at the teams we can't beat would suggest we're closer to L1 than PL. I think McKenna needs to do what Burley did and get an experienced no 2 in. Remember the impact Houston made, all of a sudden we looked unstoppable. We should have more than enough for this league so something is clearly wrong. [Post edited 29 Nov 8:52]

Yes spot on, does make wonder who is responsible for purchasing players presently. Because over the past 18 months apart from Hutchinson and Delap, who has really stood out ? | | | | Login to get fewer ads

It’s how we play Benters. And it’s got us promoted twice. The year we went up we conceded a few times from playing out from the back. Hull away, Preston away, Watford away springs to mind. But we won a lot more games by playing that way. The tactic didn’t cost us the first goal . The mistake by Matusiwa did. It will happen again .

| McKenna's credit in the bank on 22:32 - Nov 28 by FromReuserWithLove | Town fans are so very placid and accepting. Wilder for example achieved more at Sheff Utd and has been sacked twice (not that they're benefiting right now). Cooper achieved a minor miracle at Forest and was bombed to ensure they stayed in the Prem. Sentiment cost us with the players, will it do the same with the manager? |
This post is possibly the most ridiculous Ive read. Literally giving examples of how change doesn't work whilst trying to argue for change. Legendary.

| McKenna's credit in the bank on 22:51 - Nov 28 by GlasgowBlue | A win tonight would have seen us in the automatic promotion places. We’ve been one if the form teams since the transfer window closed. I think there is a massive overreaction to tonight’s result. |
This. It was a very frustrating result, it was pretty much a hit list of the issues that have been holding us back all season: lack of clinical finishing, poor decision making in the final third, sloppy in possession when chasing the game, and giving away soft goals when under no real pressure in the game. That said, we'd started to address some of those issues post-Charlton and were on a 6 game unbeaten run. Not far off 2 points per game since the transfer window closed. And all of that despite not finding top gear. Talk of getting rid of McKenna when we've been on an upward trajectory in the last couple of months is for the birds. There's stuff he needs to work on with the players and we need to keep improving, indeed we need to improve more quickly than we have been. But calling for the manager to go at this point is daft and a massive overreaction to last night's game.

| McKenna's credit in the bank on 22:55 - Nov 28 by The_Romford_Blue | Are those ‘McKenna lovers’ just ‘Ipswich fans’ by any chance? Tonight was disappointing but you’d have to be a moron to think McKenna hasn’t done an incredible job for us? Sack him (which we clearly won’t) and the best available option by a million miles would be McKenna. |
I'll hold my hands up - I'm a McKenna lover. Call me naive, but it's just something about the double promotions playing incredible football, the calm, intelligent interviews, the way all the players of any Town side that have played under him love him, the way he clearly loves being here and has turned down offers from massive clubs to stay and see this project through, and his excellent working relationship with our CEO and ownership. But maybe I'm wrong, and we should throw out the entire thing, despite the millions we've spent on infrastructure and coaching staff, and get Neil Warnock in because some of you are feeling a bit hurty because we didn't win four in a row away from home.

Oh no, they'll be there on the pitch waving a smoke flare and trying to get a selfie with a player they called a lazy C**t at some point. And they'll do it without the tiniest hint of self reflection. Same as the fans who abused Morsy to his face at Bristol Rovers, but probably post about how we should "never have sold him".

It not the fact of the position in the league, it’s the way we are playing. McKenna will not change his system and I don’t have much faith in a number of players we have got presently. Hate to think what our Sam would have said to them.

And bring in Francis Jeffers as striker coach. He turned Bonne, now playing Non-League, into the best striker in the Championship during the few months he worked with him. I am amazed that he was let go when McKenna came in.
