I loved Kirsty, great lady, great voice.
She wrote some good tunes but she’s not one of our greatest songwriters. Her best moments were mostly on songs written by other people.
Don't agree!
She is always lazily imo typecast as only singing other people's songs (Fairytale, Days, A New England etc) but her own work was brilliant.
Kite is an outstanding album. Possibly one of the best commentaries on Thatcher's England. What a voice and lyrically very very good. Very funny, very droll, perceptive acerbic, playful... And full of heart.
Later albums also great. Really experimented with Cuban/Latin sounds.
