Who will be the lambs to be slaughtered in the January transfer window? 06:42 - Dec 1 with 986 viewsBlue_Heath

Can't think of too many we can realistically shift, hate to say it but Harry Clarke probably the likeliest to go assuming he's fit? Other than that who would pay even fair money for any of our squad e.g. Johnson, Smzodics etc?

Could we part exchange Hirst? or do we sacrifice one of Philogene/Clarke?

Will be an interesting window.

As usual for Heathers it's all phrased a bit negatively, but there is a discussion point in there.

We probably do need to strengthen in January. A centre forward who knows where the net is as well as putting in the hard graft. A centre mid who can properly dictate a game. Arguably a AM/10 who is effective in our system.

Players need to leave for that to happen.

Would assume that the following are closest to the exit door.

Johnson
Harry Clarke (I'd like to see him given a chance though)
Burns (unless he's ready to make a real impact after injury
Humphreys (maybe one more loan?)

I'm not sure Ashley Young has worked out how either the player or the club wanted. Maybe he might quit to be a full time pundit? Possibly Johnson too although wages for both may be an issue.

Other than that I just don't see a burning need or desire to get rid of anyone in particular. Which sums it all up at the moment. No one area needs ripping apart, no specific player or players needs binning out, despite what some will say. It's just a group of pretty good players playing adequately, sometimes worse sometimes better. No surgery is 'needed' but it's a big call to totally trust this faltering group. Who'd be in charge? There are no simple answers.

I don't know why he's not had more game time. I don't think we need to make major changes either, maybe a striker on loan. Loan out Humphreys.

Humphreys must surely be looking at moving on, at this point. A shame, cos he and Baggott are, really, the only two 'success' stories from the academy in the last 5 years or so.

You'd expect Baggott to move on also.

Back on point - I'd expect to see both Ben Johnson and Harry Clarke move on also.

Can't see any of our current first team regs getting moved on or replaced unless a monster bid comes in for someone that the club can't refuse. Will be the fringe players if any.

Wonder if we might recall Chaplin - he's the only one out that we have the option with, right?
