Disconnect 21:30 - Dec 2 with 817 viewspingu67

I just feel we have lost a complete connection between the fans and players. That double promotion winning side had proper desire and a will to run through brick walls yo bring town success. However, winning promotion was completely wasted, we've thrown millions at players who may have talent but no passion. We've let a lot of fans favourites go and now it's biting, i can't see us going up from a very mediocre league as we dont have that needed desire

We also have to contend with the fans' elation of promotion, followed by loss after loss creating disappointment, then an attempt at stabilizing a very changed squad this season with fans getting frustrated.

There are lots of types of fan, those that swing from utter joy to dejection every match, others who take the bigger picture. Unfortunately, those who react match by match in an EXTREME way, tend to be more vocal on socials, etc and colour the mood a bit more in real time.

I think we have to TRY to be patient. We are not languishing in the lower echelons of the champ, we have been showing inconsistent form, but know we have it in us to dominate.

Keep the faith! .

Do we know that? Why are you so confident. Not seen enough this season to be confident of anything.

I am beginning to think that way. The right man might well turn this squad into absolute winners very quickly.

However, look at teams like Leeds. They faltered and were inconsistent with parachute payments. Next season, settled down and ran the show.

This was not about the football. It's a discussion about fans disconnect. We have been unimpressive this season. It's like our fans act as if we are the only team to go through peaks and troughs. I'm just offering my long term thoughts, to juxtaposition the short term thoughts.

Have it in us to dominate? Seriously? We still look bloody lost on the pitch almost every match. Genuinely looks like we’ve never met as a team until they line up on the pitch.

One thing I don't do, Frimmers, is pretend. You get complete honesty with me.

I have always been a glass half full person, and someone who sees things longer term. It's not saying that's superior to others who wear their heart on their sleeve, it's just how I've learnt is best for my own well-being over the years.

Are we great right now? No. Were we great last month? Yes. It's ok to take a back seat and wait and see, but those supporters who do aren't at the forefront of social media in the same way as the 'Heart-Sleevers', do you see what I'm saying?

That's why the forums get clogged with negatives after a bad performance, clogged with positives after a great performance, and the rest just have to wait to be heard, as always.

Okay. He does the same thing every match with the same poor results for a season and a half. He plays players completely out of position. He takes players out of the team even if they have had a good game. He has made us a slow ponderous team when the way to play championship teams is to be direct and pacy and play balls in behind. We have recruited terribly with players that McKenna has said he has been after for a long time. I'm not entirely sure what the instructions are for the players as they seem to have no clue as to what they are doing with the ball.

We leave ourselves horribly exposed when we got forward yet fail to get enough players forward.

I appreciate you taking the time to reply again. That is generous of you, given the circumstances. I hope my post didn't come across as antagonist, just impassioned.

I appreciate the struggle KMcK has, because when we click, we are absolutely superb, but I do think rotation, with the squad he has right now, is causing problems. There is a clear disconnect.

I do take the view that the 'perfect' squad that clicks absolutely, is like hen's teeth.

KMcK's proof will be in the pudding if this season, and how he tackles this disjointed squad.

I wait to see what he does.
