Really poor performance 21:48 - Dec 2 with 350 viewsNutkins_Return

Absymal. No. Poor and extremely uninspiring - yep. You just seem to know what you are going to get from us at the moment. Low energy, too patient and lacking intent and invention. I actually think we played much better in that first half against Charlton and that game seems to have killed us in many ways as we seem to scared to commit and move quickly.

No point having the talent on the pitch we have if we don't work the ball much much quicker.

Cajuste at least tried to make things happen second half and either didn't something really classy or slipped over but I preferred his intent at least. Egeli was also very positive on the ball.

Jack Clarke isn't a starter. He's just not good enough at holding onto the ball and worse he is a complete passenger without the ball. We need way more strength and players with a backbone out there. He is a dangerous sub to bring on and run at tiring legs.

I did forget to add....the calls for McKenna to go are way over the top. He's still one of our key strengths. He does need to find a solution fast though and we do need to get a couple of signings right in Jan.

We don't need to be a manger merry-go-round club.

I do wonder how much of the human side of it has affected the players. Three away games back to back, each one basically do a hugely long journey in the opposite direction of the last one, across a span of a week. Away from your family, routine hugely displaced, basically no recovery time.

It's not going to be a hugely popular thought for the majority of fans, but It would not surprise me at all if it's had a huge impact on us the past week.

I think the pattern has been too repeatable in other games. We definitely look to be lacking confidence but I think it's just a fear creeping in when it's not happening for us. To many balls into players with back to goal who aren't strong enough to keep it.

Agree with all of that.

We are just so, so, passive. Davis is the ultimate example of it - he doesn't ever try and just drop his shoulder and take the full back on, just cuts back and recycles the ball every time.

Clarke is just lost when playing from the start, really easily defended against by slightly aggressive full backs, and as you say a problem defensively. Bring him on against tired legs and do his thing.

Hirst's trampoline boots being borrowed by other players.

But it is a problem that we have players not managing to do the absolute basics - holding up the ball with your back to goal is a skill as old as football.
