I've already spoken about the signing of Mcateer being bizarre with Ogbene going out the door. But any poor performance by the whole team and Mcateer and now Akpom getting it. Mcateer didn't work particularly tonight but I certainly didn't think he was any worse than others. I'd argue he played better than Clarke albeit you know Clarke can produce something (he just didn't).
Think the negative energy is a bit much from the fans now but I get it. I was super frustrated tonight. The fans need lifting and the players need lifting right now. A bit chicken an egg. [Post edited 2 Dec 22:23]

It's more about the overall poor performance tonight, rather than singling out obvious scapegoats like Akpom & McAteer.
That having been said, I think paying £12m plus add-ons for the bang average McAteer is one of the worst pieces of business Town have ever done. He's 24, FFS, not a youngster with bags of improvement in him. I think we also overpaid for Walle, but I can see his ability & potential & he's only 19.
McKenna must have sanctioned these deals & we'll be scratching our heads over McAteer until he moves to a lower Championship club on a free. |  |

Mcateer has been a dreadful signing and will continue to be, but he did at least try hard tonight (as he always does in fairness)
Akpom on the other hand, I have nothing good to say about at all. He's a waste of a shirt. If we don't send him back in Jan then more questions need asking. |  | | |

Absolutely That's my point. I've criticised the performance of the team. But plenty are singling out these lads because that's now the go to. Human behaviour I guess to blame and double down on it.

This feels like a massive case in point. What are you on about. The opposition player passed it into the ref who didn't get out the way. And we're blaiming Akpom for that now. Wow.
To reiterate neither of them were good tonight but they weren't worse than others. Collectively we are poor right now. | |
