I don't think so at all. I don't think the two situations were comparable. The coventry player kicked the ball away after some players had stopped playing and knowing ipswich wanted to take a free kick, it was tactical to prevent the other team playing their game. Hirst was silly to kick it away, but it was from frustration and at the goal, not a tactical kick into the distance to stop the other team playing. So I think the ref had it right tbh. |  | |  |
