Looking at the stats after the game, we had very little possession against Coventry, but I think we looked quite solid (the most comfortable I've felt watching us this season). We normally dominate possession, and we've seen some of the performances that accompany that.
In our promotion year, we had the ability to absorb pressure and be clinical on the break, and today very much felt like a performance from then.
Let's hope we find a way to replicate this performance more often for the rest of the season.

You can't really absorb pressure and play on the counter when teams have no interest in attacking you. Against Charlton and Wrexham whenever they got the ball they just booted it back to our defence or out for a throw. |  |

The possession stats transition a lot more to Cov after we got the 2nd. We were able to sit back in our shape and stay compact and let them have it and counter on them. They would likely have shaded it anyway. If they had been winning i suspect we would have had more. |  |

Coventry defence isnt anything special.
There was a Cov fan on the BBC a couple of weeks ago who said he was worried at being in the Prem next season, as they can score with ease but their defence is too open.
I agree with his comment about their defence.
All 3 of our goals contained poor defending by Cov. For the 1st no Cov player is trying to close down quickly enough. For the 2nd they had allowed Hirst a free run at goal only a few mins before, criminal defending to let it happen again. For the 3rd ok they were chasing the game, but the ball came back to Azon and the defence basically said would you like me to stand to one side to make it easier you for.
Their defending especially for 2nd & 3rd goals was as bad as our defending in the 2nd half against Charlton. |  | | |

Their defence is slow, made Hirst look pacy. Play a high line as well which makes them vulnerable. | | | |
