| Outstanding performance and so pleased for George 18:40 - Dec 6 with 1511 views | jasondozzell | Outstanding performance. Real resilience because crowd at points was starting to react badly. One failure to hold the ball up from Hirst and people reacting as if they wanted him strung up. Fantastic saves from Walton We kept trying to play. Egeli another cool finish. Great team moves in second half. Philogene's work off the ball and the whole team's desire to defend superb. Kipre outstanding. George kept going. Took the goal really well. What a player he's been for us through the years. Nunez pulling strings. Amazing what a bit of confidence does. Clean sheet huge Total vindication of KM's methods. Players of the quality of Cajuste and Clarke coming on as Cov tired. Squad game. Great that Ivan scored. O'Shea imperious. We can win the league. Where are all the moaners? Never doubt KM. I'm pleased for Hirst, hopefully gets confidence but let's not pretend he had a good game. Edit: I must be blind. People saying he's man of the match......haha [Post edited 6 Dec 19:12]

The longer KM has to work with this group, the stronger we'll get. That's the best the league has to offer and we've blitzed it. Long way to go and I agree about the low block thing but...

He scored a good goal. Didn't let his head drop. That's a good game. Nunez's balls over the top a huge threat.

… which was to be applauded but like every town player we were devoid of confidence whilst Coventry had it gushing through them Then the goal and a strong start to the second half And we transformed And yes then Nunez really was pulling the strings, without a doubt

This is it, our weakness is against teams who park the bus. We can play against teams who try to play football.

In the first half?!? He did better once it opened up, which is obvious.

If teams do any sort of research, they won't. That's why it's so important to get the first goal. If we don't we end up with the Wrexham result..... | | | | Login to get fewer ads

The journey from Stoke to Ipswich is worse than the same to Plymouth. The A14 is one of those "Are we there yet" roads that never end. Stoke have just had a 4-0 thrashing/drubbing/beating/demolition/disaster/reckoning/humiliation* from Sheff Utd. I'm glad it's at home as a December fixture at Stoke would be difficult. * whichever is appropriate

Yes he covered a lot of the pitch in the first half, there was effort But very little effectiveness or craft as per all Town players as they lacked belief

It was said he was pulling the strings. Maybe im unclesr on what that means. I thought that meant dominating the midfield. Not sure he made very many passes in the first half. I'll concede I'm wrong as I seem to be in the minority .

We won't see a high defensive line like this too often though. Bread and butter for Nunez

They’ll park the bus. They’ve just been gubbed 4-0 and will have seen what we did against a sdethat tried to go toe to toe with us. Wednesday will require patience

After a loss I remember Neil Warnock once stating that he would never play open football against ipswich. He didn't and beat us. The same seem true again now. If only we could find a way of scoring against non adventurous teams
| Outstanding performance and so pleased for George on 21:50 - Dec 6 with 757 views | FlittonBlue | Forgotten that Hirst has quite a turn of pace for a number 9, outpaced and outmuscled the centre half twice today - basically weve hardly seen it for about 18 months, I remember that goal at Barnsley where I thought 'oooh weve got quite a player there'. Way we set up doesnt play to that type of approach though | | | |

Mark Robbins has plenty of Championship experience and certainly isn’t a mug. Lampard’s lucked out at Coventry with the job of icing a cake that Robbins has carefully baked over the last few years. Robbins will watch todays game and is smart enough not to play into our hands. Hopefully KM will anticipate that and adapt accordingly. I think it’s gonna be fascinatingly unpredictable game on Wednesday..

the guy was everywhere on the pitch first half chasing down balls, was a real handful for Coventry to work out I think as it was clear theyd doubled up on Jaden but one minute Nunez was central, the next on the left, or the right, think even Hirst was struggling not to get in his way abit. I think people are judging it on the fact alot of his first half passes didnt quite work out, the intent was there, they were good ideas but Coventry got a foot in, or someone didnt quite time the run properly, so it seemed like he wasted possesion. whereas 2nd half the same passes were finding town players who could then do something with it. but I thought he had an excellent game.
| Outstanding performance and so pleased for George on 13:10 - Dec 7 with 213 views | OldFart71 | An allround performance. But must back it up. No good beating the best and failing against lower teams. This isn't criticism, because it was a superb win. Could have gone differently but for some great saves and a few misses by Coventry. But I have seen endlessly this season where as with the Norwich game we were totally up for it and then a few pretty average performances afterwards. | | | |
| Outstanding performance and so pleased for George on 13:45 - Dec 7 with 173 views | BrockleyBlue78 | Good result and hopefully one to build from Though some perspective - Coventry did have 3 of their top 4 scorers missing from the starting lineup (25 goals combined this season so far)- one of whom is joint leading scorer in the league. | | | |
| Outstanding performance and so pleased for George on 13:55 - Dec 7 with 138 views | Blue_Heath | Fabulous result for sure but could have been different with Hirst being sent off and Walton making some great saves. I really hope this is the springboard to push on now. Second best win of the season for me so far (Scum game obs best). Really hope we can follow it up with another statement win on Weds. | |

| Outstanding performance and so pleased for George on 14:07 - Dec 7 with 111 views | EddyJ | We defended very well. The two centre backs and Walton can share MOTM. Coventry have scored 17 more goals than the next highest scorers (us) and we kept them fairly quiet. Where they did have half chances, Walton made important saves. Our attacking play was a bit mixed. The first half was probably Hirst's worst half of the season. Nothing stuck to him, he was caught offside several times and could have been sent off. Phillogene worked hard in defence, but his attacking play was really wasteful, holding on to the ball too long and missing obvious passes. Nunez and Egeli worked hard and got an assist and a goal respectively. Clarke was powder puff when he came on, ducking out of 50-50s and generally giving the ball away. What we did do really well in the second half was to press and win the ball back in the final third. We played what McKenna seems to consider his first team. He needs to stick with this team now. I only want enforced changes for the next few games. The match conditions suited us. We were against a Coventry team that were without several key players, and who attacked against us. We also scored first. To get promoted from the Championship, you need consistancy. We are the kind of team that can turn it on when conditions are in our favour, but really struggle otherwise. We need to find a way to beat teams that park the bus. We need to find a way to come from behind. Great result. Good performance. We need to keep that going. All the good work will be undone if we don't win against Stoke. Especially if McKenna makes another 5 changes and disrupts the momentum we built from Coventry. | | | |
