| Woolfy and Greaves warming up 23:10 - Dec 6 with 3444 views | RIPbobby | I personally don't have too much of a problem with what woolfy said about playing expensive assets ahead of home grown talent. Let's be honest we want to make profit ala Hutchinson and Delap. That is part of our model. Anyway I didn't notice any interaction between them. Which is such a shame. Although I might have missed if they did. [Post edited 6 Dec 23:59]

| Woolfy and Greaves warming up on 23:45 - Dec 6 with 2947 views | Kievthegreat | The fact Woolfenden and Greaves could be on the sidelines together is the ultimate proof that Luke was talking out of his backside. If his politics BS had any merit I'm not sure we'd have Greaves on the bench and Kipre starting. Fact is that Luke wasn't good enough for a starting place anymore. Wanting away is not a problem in my book, but his little digs just aren't really borne out by facts. | | | |

True. And watching Coventry's defence hes a million miles from being 1st choice and established in their team too. If and when Coventry get promoted they will quite likely offload him. His level is and always had been, where hes played most of his games, League One.

Not true. He has a Championship promotion under his belt and didn't embarrass himself in the PL. To call him a League one player is unfair. I don't love the guy after his comments and he has his limitations as a player, but he is a competent Championship defender. [Post edited 7 Dec 7:55]

Hard agree. Fully appreciate him wanting to move, a footballer wants to playing games, albeit that's not exactly working out so far. But his politics outburst just made him seem unprofessional tbh.

That's a pretty crappy take, to be honest. Did he pi$$ in your cornflakes, or something?

| Woolfy and Greaves warming up on 08:38 - Dec 7 with 1804 views | MK1 | We currently have the 2nd best defence in the league, so the clubs and his decision to move on has proved right. I like Woolfy and think he has a Championship career ahead of him, but we have moved on and rightly so. | |

He can't get in the Coventry side and if/when they go up he'll be surplus to requirements. Where he goes after that who knows but if it's the championship it'll be a lower end club.
| Woolfy and Greaves warming up on 09:03 - Dec 7 with 1575 views | DJR | I noticed he got a good reaction from the crowd in the east stand when he ran towards them in half-time training, and speaking to the person who sits next to me he got a good reaction before the game and before I got to my seat. Which is good to hear. [Post edited 7 Dec 9:04]

Coventry's defence was nothing yesterday, that entire defence who played yesterday would need replacing if they do get promoted. Watch the CH for Hirts's goal, puts his hand up for offside and as soon as he sees Hirst isnt he throws his hands up and stops running. He should be continuing to chase so they had 2 v 1, yes Hirst is still likely to score but if the GK stops the first shot he should be there at least trying to stop any follow up. Although I did see Frank Lamp give him a gesture after the goal, so clearly he wasn't happy about that 'give up' attitude.

You wonder why you get stick on here and yet you've been carrying on this weird vendetta against Wolfy for years. Even now he's left you can't let it go. He played 15 times in the Prem and didn't do a lot wrong, so the idea his level "is and has always been League One" is clearly more nonsense.

Probably jealous Wolfy was popular with the female fans. Most of the anti Wolfy brigade was based on that jealousy and had nothing to do with football.

His actions outline his shortfall in professionalism and maturity. I know a number of fans thought he was right to call out Goodman when we got promoted but decent players with class and etiquette let their football do the talking. That was a red flag to me with his public behaviour.

Agreed on the politics angle though; his comments were unneeded and haven’t been borne out by the fact of Greaves not being given preferential treatment since. All ancient history now imo.

Utter nonsense. Not only was Woolfenden excellent in the Championship, he rarely put a foot wrong when he played in the Premier League for Town. Yes, the politics vomments were unnecessary but you're rewriting history.

The issue for Luke is that the only contender for his position, O'Shea, was never going to be dropped as captain, and Kipre could play on both the right and left, so subject to injuries Luke would never have made the bench this season.

I would love to have kept Woolfy, but the longer the season goes on the more it looks like the right decision Kipre, O Shea look far superior. In my opinion Greaves is as well. Coventry having a great season so win win really.

he was excellent for US in the Championship in a team playing well, and didnt do much if anything wrong in the Premiership though he looked compared to Tuanzebe who is a premiership defender, and seemed just to motor through things, like Woolfy had to be at his very best to be like that, and you dont get 11/10 performances every game out of players, Tuanzebe could play 70% of his potential and still have a good game, thats the difference imo. so hes good enough for the championship for sure, but then you look at us and think well I dont think he'd have played this season, Kipre/OShea/Greaves are covering things and offering more defensive options. you look at Coventry and think well he's not getting much of a look in with them either, they seem pretty comfortable (3 goals against notwithstanding) at the back with their setup. so who in the Championship could use him as more than just a mere squad player, if hes excellent at this level, and you start looking at teams and thinking well its mid to lower tier teams. ie those flirting with League One isnt it ? realistically thats the kind of level of team who would automatically pick him as a first choice defender and not just a useful squad player and thats not rewriting history thats just trying to be open and honest about his actual level, vs the the promotion team were all footballing gods that the rest of football were too blind to see.
