| 10 quick points on yesterdays GLORIOUS win - confidence boost 10:56 - Dec 7 with 1190 views | unstableblue | 1. CONFIDENCE - The first half was a tale of two teams with very different belief in themselves, we were struggling with short passes they passed it round really well. The goal made our players believe, and second half we were showing the team we can be and superiority over the league leaders. 2. COVENTRY QUALITY - I’ve seen suggestion Coventry weren’t that good, I thought they looked a quality outfit even with key players missing, pinged it round well had ability on the ball. Think they can continue to win games. Their defending of their line was actually impressive, a lesser back line we’d have had five. Also seen Coventry were good for us and the suggestion we’ll now stuggle against the lower block teams - growing confidence and patterns will allow us to beat any team in this league. 3. RIGHT SIDE OF MARGINS - Walton’s push on to the post was brilliant as his initial position was bad. If that had gone in, we’d have lost the game. PR was ready to turn on McKenna and the team, the save then the goal flipped a switch in the players and fan base. Season defining moment? 4. WE HAVE QUALITY - some moments of individual skill from Egeli, Philogene, Clarke, Matusiwa and Kipre were Premier Level - Clarke pass through to Azon, Philogene control, Egeli short pass to Davis in box - if we can get some confidence and combinations really firing we could go on a real run. 5. SECOND HALF START - we came at Coventry for the first 5 mins of the second half and had belief. It was so key, and unsettled Coventry, more of this. 6. ATMOSPHERE - I didn’t think it was terrible, and weren’t even the Churchmans getting involved? But it should have been much better, especially lower North. Two brilliant dribbles from Cajuste in attack, little response. 7. OUR DEFENCE IS GOOD - I thought Davis was not at his best going forward. But overall the defence and our defending as a team was strong. We’re starting to look solid, and OShea is in his best form. Stick with this four. 8. FAN TO PLAYER/MANAGER BOND - a feature of this season has been an issue where a significant amount of the fan base hasn’t connected with this new stage of the Town project, and the new players brought in. With also a weird negativity to the manager emerging - he deserves criticism of late, but this vibe has been something else. Really hoping some wins and performances can resolve, but feels a deep set issue. An Ipswich without McKenna would be weaker club - time for a Super TIFO. Do also think players to come closer and quicker to the north stand. 9. PHILOGENE IS IMPROVING - the level of effort from Philogene through that game was crucial 10. EGELI IS OUR TEN - loved so much from our young Norwegian yesterday, but he still struggles a little with the defensive side. But given his work in the centre of the box to link play and then score… you feel that’s his territory, and better suited to him. Having said that Nunez, who’s first half was more about pressing than creativity, in the second half gave us attacking ideas we’ve been lacking! [Post edited 7 Dec 11:04]

Needs a bit of thought. What line/angle sums him up? He's a man of fine tuned methods, processes, rationality and analysis. Plus excellent emotional intelligence. Perhaps just 'KM - football genius.' Or maybe something about patience would be appropriate. 'Good things come to those who wait'.

Or indeed Mount Rushmere. Near the golf club and Playford Road. Would be a daily inspiration to the players. Better start a crowd fund… [Post edited 7 Dec 13:55]

We still have have to find a way to unlock defensive teams. Once we have done that fans will start to believe. We have some good players coming back from injury. Palmer, Burns which adds to competition.

I like 'Good things come to those who wait' and then McKenna's face on a pint of Guinness (he is Irish after all!)

I like this too, though would shorten it to just "Good things come......" Feels more poignant/powerful that way. I might drop the pint of Guinness too! Otherwise, exactly like you said!!!
