Yes, I only saw a brief clip of the ref testing the bounce, and there was still a bounce there. I suspect we’d reached that stage or worse by the same time (60 mins or whatever it was). I wonder if our game was in the back of the ref’s mind and he didn’t want to risk pushing it out further and having a later abandonment. Who knows. |  |

If the weather is so bad there are multiple abandonments or if there is a freak weather event local to the area you can understand one abandonment. But to have two separate abandonments when other matches in the area are able to be completed shows their pitch is not up to an acceptable standard. Really they should receive a sanction for failing to fulfil the fixtures as planned.
That said, they are only 8 points ahead of nodge so I will happily accept the EFL's inability to act on this one. |  |

Several teams have been refused promotion from non-league into the fourth tier because their ground wasn't up to scratch. Surely the pitch is a key part of the ground. They fattened up their transfer budget by not investing in the pitch. They gained advantage. It was a disadvantage to us financially as the costs of getting the team and staff to that shthole, will have been considerable. We also lost the services of a player with a ban. Wednesday need two trips there like a hole in the head given their situation. Pay them out too.
If they don’t sort it in the summer, of course they should not be allowed to play there. Yes, the pitch is a if not the key part of a ground and it’s 2025. This should not be happening.
There’s plenty of grounds close by to share with and their 10k supporters won’t mind I’m sure. No problem. In fact, I’d order the ground closed now until April, assuming the pitch is dryer and the weather more benign by then. | | | |
