Rotation actually is working!!
Yes the results haven't been exactly what we have wanted them to be. However, look at Saturday, Coventry flying high but with key players out and lost.
Towns squad is almost 100% fit, with those who are out coming back onto the training field and playing games for U21's.
Busy period is upon us, squad depth, fantastic league position and looking strong.

Sorry Ned, I cant help but think you have acquired a liking to the Towen in recent years.
I'm a little longer in the tooth here and can appreciate the fantastic league position, squad and manager we have.
Expectations have been incredibly high , however, the amount of change the squad has gone through is a massive factor .
Seeing it all now coming together with the rotation is something we could have only dreamed of 4-5 seasons a go. |

Like you say expectations are high, not just amongst new fans but those who have been going for years too! I don't think there's many who would have thought we'd be this far off the league leaders at this stage of the season.
And I love your optimism, but I was at Hull and Blackburn and am genuinely not sure how you can say it's "all coming together". Coventry was a great result and hopefully provides a springboard for the rest of the season but I'll give I a few more weeks of consistently good performances before I start thinking we're well placed |  | | |

Well, statistically 33% of goals on Saturday were scored after the starting XI was changed.
Interestingly, I would suggest that squad rotation is contributing through our abiulity to score late goals.
If we assume majority of substitutions are made after 60 mins by KM and 45% of our goals scored after 60 mins shows that our bench strength and possibly fitness levels contribute to that.
However, the fact that 73% of our goals conceded are in the first 60 mins, maybe that indicates that not having a settled starting XI contributes to defensive inconsistency.

Well it definitely helps in terms of keeping our squad fit, and we have more flexibility to chop and change depending on the opponent.
On the flip as is often noted, it may not be helpful for squad cohesion, and certain high profile players not hitting their stride when they get their shot (looking at you, Akpom, Cajuste, Szmods)
There is the 'playing the strongest starting XI is the way to go' argument - but then you can point at Oxford, which was the same team.
So hard to judge really, and yes let's see how things go for the next couple of months, will Cov and Mids fade while we surge?
As for "fantastic league position" - perhaps "satisfactory" is the better word, with room for improvement which we all hope to see.
EDIT - just to add, as per the post above this one, plenty of our goals are still coming from the bench, regardless of starting XI. But that's always been the McKenna way, right? [Post edited 8 Dec 10:53]

Altho it's generally the defence who are on the pitch for the whole 90, so we could say they don't start well, but grow into games. |  |

4 would be my guess.
On current form, Leicester are the more dangerous of the two this week if that was the best 11, they'll play against Leicester. Then we finally get a break before Sheffield Wednesday, hopefully with an unchanged 11. |  |

The evidence isn't in yet - Coventry are above us in the form table over the last 10 games, so in that stretch rotation hasn't given us an advantage. We'll only see over the next 10 games and whether Cov can keep it up.
I did notice on the Cov Vlog that someone posted on here that the guy was a bit concerned about their squad depth. Let's hope he's right. |  |

It's almost like KM is a highly intelligent, professional coach who has a plan with method to it that he sticks to because he knows that over time it will deliver better end results.
As he always says, football is a random low scoring event so important not to be too reactionary. He's always said if you do the right things over time you'll get the right results.
Everything for a reason with KM. And most of these players still haven't had much training time with him due to late arrival, three international breaks etc.
