Bags in the ground... 08:15 - Dec 9 with 746 viewsbluesbrothers

Anyone got any experience with how strict they are? Need to take a laptop bag in as coming straight from work. Do they have any sort of bag drop facility if they don't let me in with it?

Cheers

Strict. A4 size. No obvious bag drop that I've seen.

They will check any bags they cannot see in, so handbags etc. Just to make sure you are not carrying anything you should not

Well good luck.

I saw someone's wallet on the "leave it here" table outside the turnstiles on Saturday.

Edit: TBF it may have been dropped and left with the stewards of course. :)

They let me in on Saturday with something from the shop in an Ipswich Town paper shopping bag which was bigger than A4, and they didn't check what was in the bag.

They also let people in with the EADT goody bags.

So maybe you could go to the shop and at least buy a shopping bag to put it in, and perhaps wrap something clothes-like round it to hide it.

Variable but getting worse, I've yet to be denied entry with a small rucksack (book, water, extra clothing and not much else) but I've been told twice in recent games that I won't be allowed in with that at some stage.

Yes, it's bigger than A4 but fits easily under the seat and when travelling half the day it's rather useful to have more stuff than fits in a pocket. Not everyone lives 20 minutes walk from the ground or has a car they can leave stuff in.

Just tell them you are a coach.
There appear to be hundreds of those with computers everywhere.

Maybe say you are the new 'long-throw-from-the-right-touchline-in-our-half-faced-with-a-low-block-and-its-a-bit-windy-and-chilly' coach.

I've come from work with a laptop in my bag a few times and never had any issues (provided it's a backpack). They'll search it and should be fine.

Dolly used to take a rucksack in I think he may have camped out on the pitch or something after the game 😚

You shoudl be fine. I have had to take mine before and wasn't an issue. People who sit near often take large carrier bags full of food into the ground.

No bag drop facility sadly, have had to find my own creative solutions to this issue with a small suitcase when I've been coming straight from the airport etc.

As others have said, I've taken rucksacks in before - think last was the league 1 promotion game and it was fine then. I'd be surprised if they stop you.

Unless your female under 18, as happened in front of me Saturday. North lower, and theres' no way she was! As poor as the pitch protection agents who stand on the corners of the 18 yard box at half time!

I had no problem with a big ish rucksack with overnight clothes and laptop charger, headset, ect on Saturday, it was searched but just open it up as you get to security to make it easy for them to check.
