| Could Wolves be the worst side in PL history? 08:18 - Dec 9 with 1706 views | ringwoodblue | As it’s going, it’s looking increasingly likely but having watched some of their matches this season, it doesn’t feel like they are worse than say Saints last season. They have to strengthen in Jan but they’re not an attractive option for recruitment right now. | |

| Could Wolves be the worst side in PL history? on 08:28 - Dec 9 with 1569 views | Churchman | I’ve only seen 70 minutes of last nights game. I thought barring the 15 mins before half time when United started messing about with ‘what we have we hold’ they were truly dreadful. The players didn’t look good enough, bar a couple, and weren’t. Devoid of confidence and just looked defeated from the start. To their credit, they did keep trying. Southampton and ourselves last season were better than that. | | | |
| Could Wolves be the worst side in PL history? on 08:28 - Dec 9 with 1567 views | Bent_double | Why couldn't they have been this bad last season, might have given us a slightly better chance of staying up. Although saying that, if everyone beats them, it probably wouldn't help! But yes, be surprised if they get to 10 points at the moment. | |

TBF they weren't much better than this before January, just that they were excellent from then on. And this season they have lost their better players.

| Could Wolves be the worst side in PL history? on 09:07 - Dec 9 with 1377 views | _CliveBaker_ | They made United look very good last night, which I think is as much a reflection on Wolves. FWIW I think United are a much better side under Amorim, he's doing a good job both in terms of shaping the squad and their performances, they would do very well to keep backing him. Wolves look so short of quality, it's going to be a long 5 months for them. Best thing they could do is use January to start planning for Championship life. | | | |

Gomes, Andre are good players, Larson is good also.
| Could Wolves be the worst side in PL history? on 09:37 - Dec 9 with 1199 views | Cheltenham_Blue | You've got to go a very long way to end up, (beating?) Derby's record. That said, at the moment they are on track for a points total of 5 or 6. Derby will be praying, in the same way we do every time someone goes 6-0 up at half time. | |

Should really have said 'a load of their better players'. Gomes was bloody excellent against us at PR last season wasn't he?

And most Sides just didn't like playing them..obviously the owners were only out to make money

he really was, Andre wasn't far behind him either if i recall correctly. They looked streets ahead of us and they didn't have Cunha on the pitch either!!

They were so good to watch under Nuno. Jota, Jiminez, Moutinho, Neves, Gibbs-White, Traore. Molineux was rocking back then.

I remember being told that their owners were told not to invest as much money into them by the Chinese government. How true that is I have no idea but Fosun were quite badly hit by the pandemic.

They've continually sold off their best players and finally ran out of luck Man U absolutely ripped them apart with some good one touch stuff but it looked far too easy for them

That was their intended business model though. They had that close relationship with super-agent Jorge Mendes which has bought a lot of really good players to Wolves, but only to get them the premier experience for them and act as a springboard to better things. it was great for short term success but not so for long term sustainability and very dependant on what talents Mendes sent their way.
| Could Wolves be the worst side in PL history? on 11:15 - Dec 9 with 779 views | mellowblue | Not for me, they still have some decent players, but no match winners. Probably look similar to us post Christmas. That Derby team though was woefully bad. Stank the place out. | | | |

How long is it sustainable? Southampton did it for quite a while, Brighton have done it very well and continue to improve. Bournemouth also appear to be adopting this approach. Perhaps it’ll catch up with all of them in the end. Important that you’re seeking continuous improvement in the your back end process and not just falling back on what has worked previously.

You make it sound worryingly similar to the 'player trading' model that Ashton likes to talk about.

It is if you can keep recruiting players from Europe for £15-20m & then sell them on for £40m, but it's hard to keep doing that.
