According to the Boro forum - the two other clubs that have since reported they were spied on was Ipswich and Wrexham.
No idea if any truth in it but they seem to be saying it is us two. If you’re Wrexham, after losing 5-1 you could argue it derailed your season
If all 3, turn out to be upheld, how can Southampton be allowed to go up?

The difference being the ref had a clear sight of the Millwall goal, whereas there were so many players all over each other for the saints goal. Only VAR could have spotted that foul. |  |

Considering we had Charlton away on a Wednesday evening, WBA away on the Saturday, Southampton away on Tuesday, how much time would we have had on the training ground.

I suppose spying on a club is classed as watching their training, set pieces etc. But scouts, managers etc have been to games to look over the opposition for years.
I really don't get the need for that type of sussing out of your opponents. There are only so many ways you can take corners, free kicks etc and at some stage they will be tried in a match.
With so much coverage of games on tv an opposing manager doesn't even need to leave the comfort of his home. |
My suspicion is, it was done in the main to get some info on Hayden Hackney. Is he out there training or not? Of course, any other info would not go amiss, are Boro trying anything different in training for example? I would imagine the EFL will sit on it and hope Hull beat Southampton to make their little problem a bit easier. Bit short in the cojones department are the EFL! |  | | |

The Boro manager was saying he changed the sides shape to a new shape specifically to play Southampton. First time they’d tried it this season.
No way you’d figure that out from watching their previous matches on the telly.
This is pretty bad. I can’t see how Southampton can be allowed to be promoted. But then again if they beat Hull, who goes up in their place? |
This is my take. You can watch games and learn a certain amount but clubs will do certain tactics just for particular games that they dont really want opposition to see until the day. It's cheating simple as - they knew the rules and deliberately broke them. I [Post edited 14 May 3:53]

I remember getting down Portman Road at 5:30am for a trip to Plymouth and getting back at 1am the next day. You'd be on the way back, look at your watch, see it's coming up to 10pm, think to yourself that surely by now we're at least coming up to the A12, look out the window, and see that you're only going past Swindon.
