This is very true, however, there is quite an undercurrent of football hooliganism in France at the moment. In the last couple of weeks, the last game of the season between Nantes and Toulouse was abandoned, there was serious trouble with Nice (ironically named) on the same day and then a week later Nice caused a lot of trouble in and around Paris on the night before and in the stadium at the French Cup Final. Now this weekend, it is PSG's turn. |  | | |

It's not just Paris though, it's cities all over. So it's not really a PSG fan thing - I mean, what fan celebrates a win with a riot? - but more that the heat and football kicked a feel annual-riot crowd into gear.
France loves a riot, never quite understood why. I do get the systemic racism and inequality, but the love of a riot seems deeper and probably deep in the revolutionary psyche.
But, as someone else said, I wouldn't say it's "fans" just people who wanted a fight and football is a useful reason. |  | | |

I seen a bit of it as it happened on YouTube via one of those ‘view from the stadium’ cams that had obviously followed a mob into town. I watched in disbelief for about 15 mins as what looked like mostly 18-22 year olds, started fires & threw on ‘Borris bikes’ & and whatever they could to keep them going. |  | | |
