Any chance both him and Pope? Wouldn't be against that. Very harsh on Walton, obviously but seems a good combo of an experienced prem regular and a younger high potential.

I really like Vitek but that is a bold statement considering he's never played a game in a top European league whilst Pope has made over 250 PL appearances and played in the Champions League.

I hope we are all over this. Scooped up pretty much every award for Bristol City last season and made one of the best saves I have ever seen against us to thwart Azon (I think).

Had a quick read about online and appears he's highly rated at United but has made it clear he wants to play rather than sit on the bench. Thats a good attitude to have for a young keeper so I really hope there is some truth in this rumour.

He had some real highlight reel saves last season. Good size and a good age to still progress. Makes a lot of sense.

You're right it was Azon. That bloke had more world class saves made from him than any other player I can remember.

Just googled, he's an absolute monster isn't he. Another tick in the box for me. Not sure what he's like with his feet but hopefully we play a little more direct this year out from the back, at least from the keeper anyways, so perhaps not as much as a priority as previously envisaged.

Think his kicking numbers are pretty decent long and short if memory serves correct but don't quote me on that. We need them to be comfortable in possession but we don't need them to be Ederson.

As you say he ticks a lot of boxes. Good pedigree and a few seasons of football under his belt now.

Accurate long kicks are certainly very important now and tbf we did use it a fair bit last time in the prem, think we were more direct than some people give us credit for.

That being said because of how well teams press now there will be a lot of times when our keeper has the ball at his feet so they need to be capable of receiving balls under pressure and then making the right decision. Like most things you need a good balance.
