Actually I believe there are always two sides to every argument. One may be plain wrong, the other right. One maybe wrong in one’s own opinion but right in others. Both sides might be subjective views both actually wrong or even right.
Confused? I am. Basically the whole point of debate is that others may not hold the same view as oneself and they might just be right - or wrong.
Assumptions are dangerous in my view and so is certainty. I’ve met and heard many people who are fixed and certain in their views and invariably they are narrow and often wrong.

No I didn’t I had just logged on yesterday and was surprised there were no political threads on the first page, that is a rare occurrence these days on here.
I never started arguing with anybody,I really can’t be arsed with arguing.
Thank you.
Have a good day.

Indeed. Especially with very little football to talk about.
Some great music threads, a bit of transfer speculation, some international football chat. Everybody getting along.
Funny you should mention great music threads. Due to yer post about John Lennons Jealous Guy I've just discovered John Lennon and The Plastic Ono Band.
Yer, I'm very late to that party.

Town connection as well - OK, it's just that we were one of the many clubs who had supporters singing 'All we are saying...is give us a goal' to the tune of the Plastic Ono Band single 'Give Peace A Chance.'

I'm aware of the Beetles, just not a big fan of their early very pop sound. Sorta put me off. Their later stuff and John's own work sounds way more interesting

'The bridge read only “PEAS” at first, the tag of the London street artist of the same name...Later, the words ‘GIVE’ and ‘A CHANCE’ were added around it - an excellent pun on the 1969 John Lennon song Give Peace a Chance. For years the graffiti remained, and it was a real favourite among Londoners...'Give Peas a Chance' was loved by countless commuters, and so, they were not amused when it was painted over with the word HELCH...HELCH, it turned out, was a tag by another graffiti artist, whose work seemed to consist entirely of them tagging HELCH in big white letters - but now they'd replaced GIVE PEAS A CHANCE and people were furious...The HELCH tag was promptly changed to “GIVE HELCH A BREAK!!!”. ...HELCH also reportedly left the Queen “extremely upset” by placing the tag on a railway viaduct within full view of Windsor Castle. The tag, 60ft long and 10ft high, was not only entirely artless but completely unmissable......during his youth Helch was a graffiti artist similar to other children in the area. According to the anonymous source, people were surprised to see the graffiti artist because they thought he would have 'grown out of it' as an adult…”...Because of the density of HELCH tags appearing in Harrow, it is believed he is - or at least was - local to the area. The bridge story wasn’t finished though - in March 2020, HELCH’s tag on the Give Peas a Chance bridge was painted over with “THANK YOU NHS”.'

Stokers didn't start the thread.
And also, because YOU've decided to stop posting about politics, we all should? Who the F are you?!
And why are a few downarrowing Stokers' pretty damn correct point? Politics threads should be banned... apart from when you do them beacause that was a couple of weeks ago so doesn't count?!?
This place has gone mad.

This afternoons background music sorted, thanks
And as somebody who liked a 'rave' back in the day I think you'll recognise the DNA in this track. Especially when the volume is tuned right up.
Lennon does the vocals and McCartney is responsible for the tape loops, effects and backwards guitars. All held together with a steady beat from Ringo.

you'll recognise the "dana" in all kinds of everything relating to the beatles!
seriously though, i think the chemical brothers did this one way better, but am sure the beatles would've been matching them if they had access to more recent studio technology

'Other children in her community nicknamed her "Dana" (Irish for bold or mischievous) because Scallon would practice judo moves... When she was 14, Scallon worked a summer job at the Bazooka chewing gum factory in Essex...Then on Saturday 21 March 1970, the nineteen-year-old schoolgirl performed (All Kinds Of Everything) at the Eurovision finals...The winning song was composed by two Dublin printworkers...A new phase in her career began after Pope John Paul II came to Ireland in September 1979, inspiring her to write with her husband the Irish chart-topper, "Totus Tuus"...Collaborating with her younger brothers they wrote the official Northern Ireland 1982 FIFA World Cup song "Yer Man"...She was granted US citizenship in 1999, requiring her to swear an oath renouncing allegiance to any other state...That same year she again stood as an independent, this time winning a seat in the European Parliament, representing Connacht–Ulster...Returning to the world of entertainment in 2005, she spent seven weeks on the RTÉ television series The Afternoon Show, where she did a fitness routine with a trainer and lost fifteen pounds in weight in time for her eldest daughter's wedding. In 2006, she and dancer Ronan McCormack were paired together in the RTÉ dance series Celebrity Jigs 'n' Reels. They made it to the final show and came second.'
