What we thinking, £40 mill?

if we thought the old agent was fun, this lot are a different level, the father was known for getting the maximum for his clients. Rumours of clubs abroad being interested. I think we would be very lucky to see him start for us in August

£25m + add ons - taking it to around £30m - would be my bet.

Poll: We’ve got super KM, he knows exactly what we need. Woolfie at the back…

Just thinking really, English player Tax, we're a prem side, he's on prem wages, scored goals and assisted last year, very important asset. I'd be disappointed if we don't get above £35 mill outright

In all seriousness, I'm happy for him to go. We're a pawn in the Jaden story. I think we and the club have probably known that all along. My personal view is that this lad is gonna end up having quite a strange, nomadic career, never really settling anywhere. He's not really a player you want for being in the trenches for a relegation battle either.

£35m has to be the minimum we accept though.

Would be a nice boost to this summer's transfer coffers too.

I did wonder if both Clarke and Philogene may go this window and Oneil tries to utilise Davis to the maximum which we saw from an individual perspective Davis wouldn't do what Davis does with those two on the left also.

if we are to be playing 3 5 2 alot this season, which is the potential, where do Jayden and Jack fit into that.

If we got £65-£70m between them then that's good business imo

Won't be upset if he goes. Not good enough for the PL. 30m should do it.

Can't see us getting much more than 60m for the two and that is probably on the high side. Could see Philogene maybe getting 35m but just don't see the teams that would want Clarke paying more than 25m.

That's not a huge return on what we bought them for?

Agreed.

Do you expect to get much of a return? Do you think those valuations are unrealistic?

If we did do that and got £60m, plus a few million for Szmodicz, we'd be getting pretty close to that 1st year in the Premier spending being fully recouped.

On the downside, it would get rid of any hope for making a serious profit on player trading from that batch. On the plus side, it would mean the spending was nowhere near as calamitous as sometimes made out.

Personally I think every player is for sale if it's for the right price, but I'd be surprised to lose both Clarke and Jaden in the same window.

Really? £37m outlay on the pair, so that's £23m profit earned on players that haven't even kicked another ball in the PL.

Plus, we've already amortised £6m of Clarke and £4m of Philogene.

If we paid say £20m for Jaden and sold him for £30m. It's always £10m profit on that player. Selling later in his contract will make more profit in a single year, but that balances out the losses we amortised previously. Single year is important for PSR, total return is more important for seeing if we do a good job player trading.

Yeah, but making more profit in this single year would enable us to spend more on the squad this summer, right?

He's a tidy player capable of moments of brilliance. That said, if he's not scoring then he doesnt really bring much else to the team in my opinion. Light weight and really isn't that quick. JC does most things better.

If we were to lose one of JP or JC then it's JP that goes im afraid.

Not sure what we paid but if we could get close to 30m for him then I would be pretty pleased.

Also, the fact that for entirety of his time he's been here it's clear his agent has been touting him about. Let's also not forget the saga in the previous window before he joined..

Would like to see Clarke stay and could understand Philogene and maybe Mehmeti going. Jaden is great in the Championship when defenders are scared to go 1v1 but not in the Prem and as someone said above dont really see him fitting a relegation scrap.

Think he is best of the three skill level but also I think as we saw in the Saints game last season JC wants it. He WANTS to be a prem player and he will do what GON and what his strikers/ midfielders/ defenders want to get there. Can happily see him be a squad player for next two seasons and then being a prem regular here or even elsewhere.

Philogene can do it but probably easier for him to do in a stepping stone first with a less intense league or more developed team around him.

You don't hire this lot unless you 100% want a move to Europe.

Wouldn't hate it if it happened. I think we have to be looking at 30M minimum.

As others have said, good opportunity for us to grow the budget and build a team for GON.

I think where we are at the moment, we're a stepping stone for all players coming in, especially international ones. So glad Wes is staying for another year.

I think his physical and technical profile definitely lend themselves well to La Liga.

Yes, can't disagree with that. However, I think it's been made patently obvious in the case of Jaden.

Funny, isn't it? Unreal talent - maybe the most naturally gifted in the squad... and yet, I concur with the general consensus that i'm fine with him leaving. I'd actually take something in the region of £30m for him and trust that we can find someone more appropriate for the battle we will face this season.

If he stays, then great - he's capable of moment of magic that could win us points this season... but I think this info means he has had offers and is keen on a move.

Pretty classless but not unusual in modern game. Poor Fabrizio making a career out of touting players for sale on behalf of agents. A non story really.

If we could get £30-35m for him then that could buy 2 good players in European market if sold.

No problem with him staying either but I don't feel like he's integral to PL survival.

Cant quote get over how much he struggled in away games last season, was anonymous in way too many of them but he is a good player with lots of improvement possible.

If he stays, great. If a team pays us good money for him, not the end of the world.

More than that in JP's case, assuming the reported figures were correct (Philogene £20m, and Clarke £15m) then current book values are:

Philogene - £13.3m
Clarke - £9m

I think this will be the first step in an attempt to move himself on, just concern is fee ends up being not near where we want it to be - he's happy enough but has never really wanted to be here, or anywhere tbf

You think a move to a top half Spanish or Italian side would be a good move for him. Would not be surprised to see him move to the middle east for big bucks even.

Fair enough, I was under the impression that Jaden was £22m for some reason.

On your final paragraph, I think that underlines why I think his career will be a nomadic one. He's a genuine enigma. The classic Mick McCarthy quote 'world beater or panel beater'.

I would imagine GON and Ashton would accept £30m if his heart genuinely isn't in the season here.

I know the Turkish interest was really strong over the last 12 months. He may even see that as a different adventure, especially if he can get a move to a Turkish outfit playing European football.

The Raiola's don't hang around though. So, I imagine his days in Suffolk are 100% numbered.

Baffled at how many people would be willing to just let him go. He’s the biggest asset we currently have at the club, on the back of a great season.

English, still only 24 and on the back of a season with 12 goals off the wing - I wouldn’t take anything less than £40m and double our money.

I see people say we can replace him with a Premier League quality winger - like who?

Of course if he’s desparate to go, then there’s not much that can be done, but I’m not a fan of losing our best player before we’ve even kicked a ball in the Prem.
